Seamus, I cannot speak on what Dan has stated to you or to anyone else.  If his rule is followed, and fluff is read into the rules, then the FAQ and the black-and-white go out the window.

That said, as long as both parties agree prior to the start of the game, then I see no reason why the rule cannot be interpreted in such a way for, at least, that particular game.  As gaming is all about the fun, and not the discussion of rules, I say we play it your way, and let the story run its course.

Not neccesary.  I will be more than happy to play it as you stated.  I could be misremembering it also.  Also at the time the particular discussion with Dan took place, the rules were still in beta and it may be something that changed.   I was working with Dan at a local convention promoting the upcoming rules when this model was used in a demo to demonstrate how much better HtH was in the new rule set than in 2nd Edition.

I have the framed certificate and the gold plated Behemoth from Excelsior for winning the tournament.

Ah.  Not the year I went...  There was no tourney in 2006 when I went.

Archer, I think that was the first official UWZ National Tournament in 2004 after the rules were printed in 2003.   Due to time constraints, the games were timed with three objectives and points were awarded based on overall kills but the majority of the points were for the objectives.  Each player, played two games against different opponents determined by lot.  I was playing a Cult Army and in both games distracted the opponent from the objectives by sending a squad of destroyers and a Supreme Necromagus wtih his summoned Razide right at them.  They forgot about the objectives and meanwhile my initiates and sacristans took the objective points and held them through the rest of the game.  In both games, I took some heavy losses out of my destroyers but didn't lose the razide and supreme necromagus in either game.

Oh, I so love the name, "In Your Faceless."

Brilliance, man; sheer brilliance.

EDIT:

Capitol Penal Legion had better not have any logos - dear [insert name of favorite deity, here], no logos!

Wasn't me then.  I've been to two Origins.  1995 when it was in Philadelphia and 2006 in Columbus.

If you still have teh army and are going to T-V, I'll dig out the Machine and we can have at it.   What was the PV of the '04 event?

As the theme appears to be settling on:

Talamania V
THE CARTEL STRIKES BACK

I think that your Cartel force would be stunningly apropos.

I have enough Capitol for two players - Dave?
Always look out for number one, but don't step in number two.
What do you mean Flash Gordon approaching? OPEN FIRE!
The entire Capitol Army.
Don't ever say anything but a 20 before rolling the dice.
