I dont think a 750 point force is a good force for a Demo game. Players wich are new to the game/system/hobby could be scared away buy overcomplexity (as for a starter there are a lot numbers to crunch ;) )

Agreed, one or two squads and an individual then as they get comfortable they can expand easily up to 750.

We started goin' crazy with points when my crew started out; 750 isn't so daunting as you would think.  The levels of complexity and strategy grow with the gamer.  I find 750 point games to be even more tense and fraut with peril.  I've demo-ed  a friend with a 650 point game with some basic troops only and found he was more than able to handle the numbers.  It depends on who's running the demo more than anything.
