Erie's Days of Gaming 2010
« on: April 12, 2010, 01:22:07 PM »
Hey guys, Eries Days of Gaming will be held November 12-14 this year at the Avalon Hotel in Erie, PA.  The website isn't up yet, but we did set up a simple Facebook page for those who may be interested.  Note, I set this page up, like last night, so not much is there yet, heck even the new logo isn't done yet, but you'll be able to gather all the info you'd like from there.  If you'd like to come but accommodations will be hard for you, I can set up, 1 or 2 at my place.  Just try to ignore my kids and the fact that my house is a mess :D  Also, I recall the Avalon will have rooms available, I think it is $70 a night, but don't quote me.

This year is particularly exciting as we have tripled our play area, in addition to having a 3 day event over the one day event we used to have!!

Whoa!!  Well struck for advance notice and congrats on getting what looks to be a great event together.  If I can find someone to travel with, I'd like to go.
May the Dark Lords of Lead-Free Pewter smile kindly upon you.

This year, I will be running a miniature game based on the classic Gauntlet arcade game.  There may also be Escaflowne and potentially Dino Riders if they release soon enough to get them painted.

Is this a TTG?  Cool looking for sure.  What about Dino Riders-that a new game as well?
VeezCon products:  Not as good as if they had been actually produced by a real figure company, but better than using your shoe to proxy with...sort of!

Escaflopwne is an Anime, and I am going to use the Gashapon and likely the Mega Bots game rules.

(skip to around 3 minutes in)

Dino Riders is an old cartoon series from when I was a kid.  They also had a sweet toy line.  However, recently a figure manufacturer is having 6mm figures made up in the Dino Riders theme (not rips, but cool in their own right)

Scroll down a bit, you'll find a T-Rex, Parasaurolophus, Raptops, Protoceratops, and Stegasaurus, which is a pretty good start.  Depending on how well this wave does, he'll be issuing more.  I am a bit torn on the rules, I bought Future War Commander, but haven;t learned to play.  I intended to base them on hex bases so they'll fit well on Heroscape Terrain, so I might use a derivation of those rules, adjusted for 6mm, this will also allow the game to play faster and easier.  But it's just a thought.

Any chance of any of you all coming, looking forward to meeting some of you if you do make it.  While there is nothing Chronopia or Warzone planned, I'd happily play a pickup of Chronopia.

Like I said though, I can spot one or two a place to sleep if need be, we can just drive to the con together (its around 40 minutes from my place, so it isn't a bad drive)

Thanks for the info and invite. Most likely will not be able to make it this year.
