Mishima name origin
« on: June 13, 2010, 12:01:05 PM »
so i've been studying japanese for several years, and recently discovered something of interest.  the name mishima (a common name) is composed of two chinese characters. the meaning of the first is "three" (mi or mitsu) and the second is "island" (shima).   being divided into 3 large regions on venus, mars, and mercury in a way none of the other corporations quite are, this name seems fitting, and was probably even intentionally chosen, though i dont have the original mutant chronicles rpg books to confirm this or not.

here is how you write the characters. the first is 3 lines (representing the number), the second is a combination of a little bird and a mountain (an island) , the mountain being the 3 little lines in the bottom of the character.

Interesting. May have to use the symbols if I get around to making flags for my Mishimans.
