SOK Blade Maidens
« on: December 20, 2009, 08:07:25 AM »
I'm trying to get all my SOK minis together and see what I've got, and maybe pick up a few others if needed to fill in units.
So I'm looking at the Blade Maidens, and I have a small concern.
There are Blade Maidens, a Blade Maiden Leader, and a Blade Maiden Champion.
What do they look like?
I think the Blade Maiden leader has the two Handed sword in one seperate hand bit (she's a two piece mini), but what does the Blade Maiden Champion look like?
Anyone have pics of her?
Or am I incorrect, and the two piece mini is the Champion? If so, then what does the Blade Maiden leader look like?

(Let this be an excuse to post Blade Maiden pics, if you wish...)  ;D

No model was ever made for the Champion.  Go to Brigade Models in the UK and find yourself an awesome proxy from the Celtos line.

Thanks for the tip, Josh.
I'll pick something up there for sure.

How well do the Celtos minis work for SOK figs anyway?

I reckon the Gaels and the Sons of Kronos were sculpted by the same dude, and the two lines were designed by the same crew (more or less).

Kev White sculpted a large part of the Chronopia range, and pretty much the whole Celtos range.  They fit in beautifully.

I completely agree with Josh in stylistic terms, but pay attention because some Celtos minis are a little smaller than the average Chronopia ones. I took some ladies to do the champion (Eriu, I think it's called) and they fit perfectly beneath the maidens (but the maidens too are little) but some males are to check before. Anyway, they're great pieces, and I used some of even to do the proxyes of some devout and blackblood pieces.

Yes I own a Celtos model for a Blade Maiden champion. She is great. Truth is those Celtos models are probably better sculpts than the Blade Maidens. I'd say use Celtos if you have access to them. That does not mean all of them are like that. I love the new Viridian Lords for example. I also got an Elven knight from celtos who has a two handed sword and armor and has a dragon helm and really makes a perfect Elven Lotus Knight (which I made stats for) but then I thought about it and you could use him for an Obsidian Guard easily, he is perfect. I also love the Celtos mounted horseman models. An Arborr Horseman, Yes please! I own the Chronopia one and I like it fine but the horses for the Celtos range are fantastic.
