And now I gotta get a chainsaw...
« on: August 18, 2009, 04:45:47 PM »
No, not for gaming, nor for keeping the wayward trick-or-treater off my lawn.

A nice little storm just blew through and knocked down half a tree onto my front sidewalk and lawn.

Oh, well...I really wanted one, anyway.  Now, I have an excuse!   8)
If sing, sang, and sung, sink, sank, and sunk, and drink, drank, and drunk, how is it that it isn't bring, brang, and brung, think, thank and thunk, and ding, dang, and dung?

Don't even get me started about bad, badder and baddest.  Run, ran AND run...again?  C'mon!

Couple with a boom stick and you can save the world Dave.

Of course better your lawn than your house!

Think of all the terrain you can make with a chainsaw!

It may sound stupid but sweep the tree with a metal detector. Someone may have put a nail or used the tree as a wire fence post when it was smaller and as the tree grew the metal could have ended up anywhere in the tree. The reason I am advising you about this is that I worked with a guy who moonlighted for his father's tree service. He was cutting into the upper part of a tree and the chainsaw kicked back into his face. He lived but he has a bad scar and a plastic eye to remind himself that you should never assume that a tree is free of nails, wire or other metal that the tree has grown over.
