New Battles, Scenario-Combination - A Campaign !!

Next thing we planned is a Campaign out of some scenarios.
Ill post this on next weekend if I find enough time an also the single scenarios.
I΄ll post the names next for a foretaste.

Lopis, you know you have a lot of time to do it. So you can do it in every detail. It will take some time before I am back in the place of action  :'(   ;)

But I am looking forward to play the scenarium!  ;D

Next time I write the szenarios in english at first, not in german.

"Last Train to Unknown" Campaign



Prolog:
An f**king Monday:
Everything started at the Central Station in the Great Valleys of the Mars. We had known that this wouldn’t be a standard logistic mission to prepare a campaign. The Cartel cargo trains were chartered by mistake for four corporations. The actual situation was already tense from the beginning. There was no chance that this would get a smooth operation. It could only get wrong. Two corporations formed a strategic alliance and then everything had to be fast to act.
In a hail of bullets from every direction the boxes got loaded to the trains. The purpose of the campaign is top secret. I got left heavy wounded on the battle field covert from the red sand of the Mars. Now I am sitting as a hostage in a cargo wagon. The guards around me are alert.

Two days after an f**king Monday:
I am lucky I am not the only hostage. The original plan got changed and there will be a hostage transfer. A hostage transfer, pha! As far as I know my guys they will try to liberate me and to burn down the basis. In this freaky environment they took us the mood of my boys will be in a bad-temper. The political situation is in the meantime pretty obscure. The allies from the last battle are now my guards. Just crazy!

An even more f**king Monday a week later:
The number casualties of the last warfare were extreme high. We had to call for reinforcement to build up our forces. Luckily I got liberated. But at least the survivors of the last fights are now hard as steel and just a few greenhorn a around us. We are now facing the primary object of this campaign. It is a secret laboratory in the deepest jungle. The previous operations took us in a good position to attack. I have to stop now the report. The raptors are waiting for me…


General
• The campaign will played in the single scenarios.
• For each scenario the players have a pool of points to build the forces.
• Units which are killed in action will reduce the points in the pool.
• The option of reinforcement can be used once in the campaign.
• In the following chapters will be described how to gain campaign victory points and scenario victory points. The two types of victory points need to be clearly separated from each other.

Evaluation of the campaign
• The winner of a scenario will get a campaign victory point. Both players of a team get one point.
• The last scenario offers the possibility for one player to gain an extra campaign victory point.
• The player with the most campaign victory points wins the campaign. In the case of a tie the player wins with the most remaining points in the pool of points.

Preparations of war
• For the first scenario the teams will be established by a drawing.
• Afterwards the player with the most campaign victory points will play with the player with the fewest. In the case of a tie the decision will be done over the points in the pool of points.
• The player should have prepared a lot of different forces for each single scenario to choose from.
• If a player decide to create a new force he hast o do it in a time window of 30 minutes.

Pool of points
Every player has a pool of 1400 points for the whole campaign. This is a general pool and the player can buy with these points all kind of units. The pool consists only of points and does not consist of units. Before each single scenario the player use these points to build a force. It is rule conform to build more than one alternative force for each scenario. Only the points for the actual used and deployed force will be taken from the pool of points.

Evaluation at the end of a scenario:
• At the end of a scenario the points of all surviving or escaped units will be returned into the pool of points. Wounds of the units will be ignored and the full amount of points will be returned.
• Personalities who died during the battle have a 50% chance to get reanimated if the player won the scenario. This means it is possible to buy them for the next scenarios but the points are lost and will not return to the pool of points.  
• Individuals (including single unit vehicles) who survived and killed at least one enemy or could get at least a scenario victory point will be upgraded to veteran units.
• Squads (including vehicle squads) where survived at least the half of the squad and who killed at least one enemy or captured at least one scenario victory point will be upgraded to veteran units.
• These individuals or squads can increase their CC, RC, LD, PW, or Armor value by one.
• A veteran unit will be upgraded a second time will become a hero unit. It is not allowed to increase the same value like they upgraded already as veterans. After the hero status no further upgrade is possible.
• If a unit with veteran or hero status will be used in a later scenario the bonus applies.

Examples and appendix:
• Example 1: Two of six Assault Marines of a squad survived. The points for the two units will return to the pool of points. Nothing else happens.
• Example 2: Three of six Assault Marines of a squad survives. The points of the three units will return to the pool of points. Capitol notes a veteran AM squad and increase the RC value +1. If Capitol will use in one of the later scenarios an AM unit, so he can use this veteran unit with the bonus. The squad does not to be the same like the original squad but the number of members of this squad cannot extend over 150% (round down) of the original one. A second AM squad in the force will of course not gain this bonus (except two veteran AM units exist). The veteran status is lost if the veteran unit will lose more than 50% of the squad members during a scenario.
• Example 3: One of two Orcas (Orca squad without a specialist) survives with just one wound left. The full points of the surviving Orca will return to the pool of points. The wounds don’t matter. Capitol has from now an Orca veteran unit, because half of the squad survived. Capitol can now buy for the next scenario a squad of veteran Orcas. This squad can include two MKII and one MK IV or V specialist and he can increase the armor value by one. This is conforming to the rules because three Orcas are 150% of the original Orca squad of two before they got the veteran status.

Escape
• If a player has lost more than the half of his force he can escape from the beginning of the third round.
• The half is defined by the numbers of model.
• To escape the model has to move to the edge of the table in the direction of the own deployment zone. If the model reaches the edge it will be taken from the table and cannot return in the scenario.


Scenarios

There will be three scenarios in this campaign.
The scenario victory points will be used to define the winner of a scenario. Scenario victory points are not the same like campaign victory points which are used to define the winner of the whole campaign.

The two winners of a scenario will each get one campaign victory point like mentioned before.

o   600 points to build a force
o   Every player hast o declare two target persons. If possible they should be personalities. If more than two personalities are in play he has to choose the one with the higher LD value. If only one or none personality will be part of the force the models with the highest LD values will be chosen.
o   Optional task: The individual or squad who will kill a target person (last wound counts) will be upgraded to hero status if they would gain the veteran status.
o   Optional task: The player who will get the most scenario victory points will decide which type of environment will be used in the next scenario.
o   Optional task: There will be additional boxes at the in the middle of the left and right edge of the board. The player who will deliver extra boxes to the train will gain the possibility to upgrade a squad or individual of his choice for the 2nd or 3rd scenario into the veteran status (no upgrade to hero status possible).

o   650 points to build a force.
o   Environment: The type of the environment will be chosen by the player who full filled the optional task in the scenario Last Train. The level will be defined by a roll.
o   The player hast o pick their forces before the level of the environment is defined and before they could pick a side of the table.
o   It is possible to give the opponent personalities who died during the Last Train scenario. It is assumed in this case that the individuals not died but got captured during the last scenario. If the player is able to liberate them he can use them afterwards like normal for the next scenarios.
o   Optional task: The player who liberate his hostages and will move them to his own base will get 100 points for hi spool of points.
o   Optional task: The player who can escort his hostages to the jail will steal the opponent 50 points from his pool of points and can add them to his pool. If the hostage is a personality the opponent has to pay 100 additional points to free the personality to gain the possibility to use them in the following scenarios.
o   Optional task: The player who is able to carry the enemy’s basis will gain 100 points for his pool of point5s and a +3 modifier for the next roll to choose the side of the table for the next scenario.

o   The big groups of raptors have only the size of three raptors.
o   Buy additional points for the pool: If the pool does not have enough points left to buy a force of 600 points (750 points with reinforcement) it is allowed to buy 100 additional points for the pool. It will cost one scenario victory point. This means the player will start with -1 instead of zero victory points.
o   The player who could capture the most scenario victory points until the end of the scenario will get an additional campaign victory point. The players who used the reinforcement during the scenario have to ignore two of their scenario victory points during the analysis of the best player of the scenario. It can be that a player who lost the scenario is still the best single player and will get this extra campaign victory point. For this purpose it will be noted which player collected which VPs for his team. In the case that both player of one team have collected together the VPs both player get the half of these points.
o   In the case of a tie the team wins with the most wounds in the target buildings.
o   Optional task: The individual or squad who will kill two raptors (last wound counts) will be immediately upgraded to veteran status.
o   Optional task: A veteran unit who kills three raptors (last wound counts) will be immediately upgraded to hero status.


Reinforcement

Every player can send one time during the scenario a reinforcement of 150 points. The following conditions apply:
•   The reinforcement has to be defined for each force and hast o be paid out of the pool in advance.
•   The force hast o apply to the rules without the reinforcement.
•   The reinforcement has to be conforming to the rules in itself. The following exception applies:
o   It is possible to have one more elite squad than grunt squads in the reinforcement. It is so possible to have 0 Grunts / 1 Elite or 1 Grunt / 2 Elites etc. in the reinforcement.
•   The reinforcement has fit to the selected Haus/Clan/Lord/subdivision etc.
•   The main force plus the reinforcement has not to be conforming to the standard rules as long the each of them follows their own rules.

Call the reinforcement
•   The reinforcement has to be called by a divisions commander in the beginning of the round (it is enough if a divisions commander is fielded)
•   It is impossible to call the reinforcement already in the first round.
•   The player will note secretly if they will call the reinforcement. The players of one team are not allowed to coordinate their decisions if they call the reinforcement or not.
•   The reinforcement will appear in the beginning of the following round. The units will be deployed into the own deployment zone up to 6” away from the edge of the table. Units with wait actions can use them to fire at the fresh deployed units.
•   Exceptiones:
o   Parachutes and unseen assailants will be deployed regarding to the special rules which applies for them. They will not deploy in the beginning of the round but they will be ready to field them from then.
o   Infiltrates will be deployed regarding their rules. But they will be fielded directly as models not as deployment cards and units with wait actions can use them to fire at them.
o   Model with reconnaissance training can be deployed up to 12” from the edge of the table.
o   Stealth / Stalk units will be deployed in hidden status.

X-mas is this year a little bit earlier! We will play our campaign on the 22nd and the 23rd of December.

Three 4-player games in two days, this will be hardcore.  ;D

Of course we will provide a battle report after the game.
