Movement and Vehicles
« on: June 17, 2009, 12:08:40 AM »
Does the 4" rule apply for vehicles?
You know there must be an gap of as least 4" to move through two enemies in generell, but does a vehicle get threaded?

Good question.  While this will be dealt with in a future release, suffice to say that vehicles, for now, follow that rule.  It is a "zone-of-control" thing.
If sing, sang, and sung, sink, sank, and sunk, and drink, drank, and drunk, how is it that it isn't bring, brang, and brung, think, thank and thunk, and ding, dang, and dung?

Don't even get me started about bad, badder and baddest.  Run, ran AND run...again?  C'mon!

Ok, how does it work with Fenrisbike and the combined attacks?
First the drive by attack and then the ramming as secondary attack.

I am sure I can ingnore the first figure because the rule only applies for units which are not in CC and because of the drive by attack the unit is in CC during the drive by of the Fenris.

The question is now how has the fenris bike to move for the secondary attack?
Just imagine a triangle of ememies and the fenrisbike attacks in the gap in the front. Can he move into the triangle straight to the next enemy or he has to do a turn along the the outer line of the enemies as long the gap is not bigger then 4".

Just imagine all the cool guys to kill are in the centre of the triangle and the guys around a just the meatshilds. ;)

I don't know if you can image what I try to explain but I hope you understand my weird discription of the situation.

The drawing.  :o

The long one is the fenris bike. The round dots are the enemies.
The green one with the X gets the drive by attack so the fenris bike can ignore this one (he is in CC).
The black line is the distance between the next two guys. Lets say it is more than 4".
Then I think the bike can drive along the big red arrow and can attack the next green guy with ramming.

Alternative if he can not follow the big red one he must make a turn and attack the next blue one with ramming (small red arrow).

The image doesn't work why ever but it is there as an attachment. Better then nothing :(

Had I known from the beginning that this was a Fenris Bike question, I would have answered differently. ;D

That said:

A.)  There are special rules for special models.
B.)  I will answer this when I have a bit more time (later this evening, USA EDT).

I just thought if the generell ruling for vehicles says the rule doesn't apply there would be no need for special clarification but I don't mind to have special rules for special units.

How would you hold your [insert favorite beverage, here] while you roll dice and/or push lead?  Let's now even get into the whole painting and building awesome figs and terrain issue... ;D

Okay, how about ankle then?

Your choice, bud, but I'd rather part with an appendage for which I would not foresee much use; a nostril or a nipple, for example.  ;)
