Capitol: Dominator Infatrie
« on: April 17, 2009, 04:05:04 AM »
Dear Frank,

My exchange-term on mars is almost over.
As i promised here some more impressions of these guys...

I will continue with the most impressive peace of new tech they use. No match for Vuclans, of course, but rather cost and logistics effective.

The Domitator-Line Battle Armor follows the successful concept of the Wolfhead-PA.

However, Capitol took it to the big extreme again.

Insted of using the PA to reduce weight, they use it to increase weapon load and armor.

The result is a rather clumbsy infatry-soldier with strong weapons.
However, due to cybertronic contracts and therefore advanced targeting systems this suit provides capitol with vital strategic possibilities.

The system can track regarding to thread levels and target in a fast and efficient manner. also it can stand in the line of battle and can kill about 217% of normal HI-troopers.

Specs are as follows:

Elite-Troopers
Squad 3-9
Specialists 1/3

CC RC PW LD  AC WD ST MV AR SZ PC
7  10  4    13  3   2    5   3   23  3  40

Belt-fed, cooled-barreld M-50 Assault Rifle
CC  PB      SR      MR      LR       ER  DM
-4   0(x2)  1(x2)  0(x2)  -1(x2)   -    10

Spec 1 - MHMG
CC  PB      SR      MR      LR       ER  DM
-     0(x2)  1(x3) 1(x2)  -2(x2)  -     13      +10 P

Spec 2 - Autocannon
CC  PB      SR      MR      LR       ER  DM
-     0       -1       -3       -5        -    13(x2) AV-4      +10 P

Spec 3 - Mortar
CC  PB      SR      MR      LR       ER  DM
-    -         -         -2       -4       -     10         +10 P
Indirect fire. Small Explosion Template

Rules:

Armor:
-Pro: AR 23; Big Weapons
-Con: -Vulnerable to "elemental" attacks (-3): (Explosions [inc. rockets, grenades], Fire);
        -Impenetrability;
-(-3) Environmental Effects (complex, heavy armor) but can recive elite-upgrades
-canīt move through water/mud (how does the vulcan does this, or the orca, anyway?)

Abilites:
-Tactical Sense   (cybertronic target systems, no cyberware)
-Laser Sight   (cybertronic target systems, no cyberware)
-Ambush   (cybertronic target systems, no cyberware)
-Extra Ablative Armor (as i said, more is better)

All in all a well rounded but somewhat exclusive unit wich will surely see useful action on defensive positions at the mac craig line or other positions on mars.
i donīt see it on venus soon, the system seems not adoptabe enough.

on luna however it may be extremly potent. the cybertronic components may prevent this though.

I would consider this a lvl. II thread and we should contact haus richthausen for options of a lighter version of the vulcan seems useful.

Sincerly Dr. Mordenheim

------------
what do you think??

through ambush a heavy defensive unit.
cheaper than orcas, between troops & monsters (3W)

@cost: compared to 39P vulcans they appear weak, but i consider the vulcans a little underpriced.
also they have the ambush feature.
they out to be more like attilas with better weapons & less thoughness.

Always look out for number one, but don't step in number two.

Wow, this unit would be "extremly effective". Not to say the bad word, that is made from milk.
A squad with Mounted Assault Rifles and Ambush and two wounds.
Not to expensive and even "slightly" better than Bauhaus Battlesuits.

But Capitol is lusting for some units with more power than all this ordinary assault rifle standard squads.
If I look at my forcelist all I see are assault rifles. They are everywhere!
Even the damn Adm.Col.Guard has trown away there shotguns from 1.st edition, which machted so much better to a Survival 4 squad.
When do I need Survival TRaining 4? In extremly Enviroment, yes. And what do I have at extremly enviroment? Only a short LOS, yes.
And what weapon should I use at a short LOS? SHOTGUNS not Assault Rifles!
And all this because the minins where already there and they all had Assault Rifles. Ahh, Assault Rifles. They are everywhere!
(Did I go offtopic ?)

*ahem* Punisher Short Sword. Adm Col Guard has standard CC 10 St+4 = Damage 10 (same as getting hit with a bullet from the above mentioned assault rifle). Hitting 50% of the time in CC plus bonus if more than one model in CC. I do agree that shotguns "fit" the survival training better. Shotguns are relatively easy to avoid. I call it the Capital two step. Back away from their range and form a classic L shaped ambush. Aim shoot go on wait. If you win init shoot three times into the shotgun squad. If you can't shoot back up again and go on wait. The shotgun squad you are firing at will most likely stay behind cover to "pop" out and shoot at you. Leave at least 2 MV in inches between you and them.

Punisher Short Sword > Shotgun in close combat. All else fails charge them with swords a flashing.
