Where in the World is Our Man Seamus?
« on: February 01, 2009, 07:05:06 PM »
I know!!!!!!!!!!

Seamus called me this morning. Turns out he ended up in the hospital in isolation no less. Turns out his boss brought back a virulent and never before seen strain of bird flu from China. Seamus got it and both ended up in the hospital. He was kicked loose from isolation this morning and should be out of the hospital tonight or tomorrow.

I advise that everyone who sent him PM's about buying figs and got no response to contact him again by PM and remake your offers.

Well I'm glad he's okay.  Bird flu??  That's gotta suck.  Isolation??  Hospital??  That definitely sucks.

What a vacation, too bad he couldn't enjoy it. I hope everything works out for him. I know sometimes things like that can hold on for awhile.

You can't make that sort of thing up.  I bet it will be a while before he goes to KFC again.

I hope he's okay but I bet he's better prepared than the rest of us when that hits.  Just got done talking with a co-worker about that sort of thing.  Not quite the end of the world sort of thing we are told but still pretty bad.

Actually, he was in Hong Kong on a secret mission that he is not allowed to talk about.  The "boss gave me Bird Flu" is soooo... transparent.

Seriously, hope Seamus gets better soon, and all works out.

Hope he was able to get some figs and paints in isolation. Trying to make lemonaid out of lemons.

Wound up spending a couple more weeks in the hospital.  I wasn't contagious anymore but my systems immunity was so far gone that they wouldn't let me go.  This was a close one but I am now home and as soon as I get the dates of the requests sorted, I will get back to those of you want to buy minis.  Just remember, if you get a flu shot in the fall of 2009, a piece of me will be in there.  This strain was so different, the CDC is culturing samples of my blood pre-antibiotics.  Turns out my system almost had this thing beaten.  The guy from the CDC was very happy about the blood sample he got from me.

At any rate, I came close a coule of times to almost biting the big one during the past few weeks.  Thats the third time in my life I've been that close to death.  Hey, I'm only 47 and both my maternal and paternal grandparents lived to their 90's or better so I'm looking forward to being here at least 35 to 40 more years.

Wow.  On the bright side, you have a strain of the plauge named after you now.

Hey at least since you were able to type we won't assume you're a newly risen zombie and have to blow off your head.  See?  Silver lining.

Seriously, it's good to hear that you're back in good health and seem to have a humorous take on the whole ordeal.
