I've been reading a lot of WWI history online, and was amazed that some patrols didn't even take guns with them on scouting missions because using them would give away their position.
I'm not up on the rules enough to put shooting into CC into UWZ terms, but I'm hoping the military historian in all of us might use the info of real world battles.
I know we're not re-enacting WWI, but I'm just saying that bullets can travel real crazy, man, real crazy.
