Dwarf Army List
« on: December 08, 2008, 10:20:46 AM »
So, in my continuing effort to sucker another player into the world of chronopia, the player interested in dwarves has asked for help w/ an army list.

As I've never played them, I'm at a loss for suggestions, so I put the challenge out as it was put to me:

I'm looking for a 750 pt & 1000 pt dwarf list, primarily comprised of models that can be obtained as inexpensively as possible.

Obviously some proxying can be done if there are any "must haves" that are a bit harder to find, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
What, these?  I've had these minis forever dear, they were just in a box in the garage.... :D

I'll crank some out tonight when I'm home from the office.

Cheers.

Someone pm'ed me for a pic of my Mauler, so I thought I'd post again.  Take the Bloodbone Axeman Leader, attach two Ripper Claws from your Gauntlet warriors, and you can swap out the head for a Rackham one like I did, or just leave the one he's got already.

Thanks Josh!

I'll be keeping an eye out for some of those models.  I just won 2 auctions for Horned Ones spearmen box sets, so that's the base I'm starting from.  Beggers can't be choosers :D

We'll see what can be accomplished.  You'll have a good base to work from there.

That's what I said - at the very least, add a couple individuals and you'll have a force to field.  It may not be the optimal dwarf force, but it's better than no dwarf force :D

I'm hoping to work out a deal or two on the boards here and get him set up.

Now I just need to stop playing Fallout 3 long enough to get some painting done!

Great Model! Nice painting! Can we see rest of your Blood Bone Army?

I'm going to sculpt my own Mauler (but still use some Hearthbreaker parts). Hope to post pics soon.

My Blood Bones were painted some years back, and I've not stripped them and repainted, but I can show you pics.  I'll see if I can snap some this evening.

The Mauler is kind of a signature piece, having made the rounds at a few cons, Talamania, and many home games.  He's real cartoony, but still fits in with the overall vibe.  It's been rare, but on occasion he's the last one left standing, and the pose is perfect.

ANY Dwarf help you need, from finding the old sculpts, suitable proxies, scratch building, etc. just ask.  Andrew Coleman, known as Manic_Mincer on these boards, has even found a way to build the Horned Ones War Thorkha.  Veez is also a wealth of info on converting, mostly Warzone, but still, we've got our own little cult here dedicated to Chronopia and Warzone and we'll always help each other, and new players, out.

There's something kinda creepy about the mini - gives me the heeby-jeebies.
