The snow board needs more terrain.  I am working on that.  I have other boards in the works; an indoor board (nothing larger than SZ 3), a trench board, and an industrial board (may combine that one with the snow board).

With more terrain, the snow board can be lots of fun.

The other thing that we were missing was objectives.  Killing all the other guys models is fun, but if one player has a predominantly shooty army while the other is predominantly CC, then there is nothing preventing the shooty player from digging in and taunting the other player, "Come get me, you sword-weiling bastages!"  Throw in an objective that could throw the points another way, and all of the sudden, the shooty player is gonna have to crawl out of his hiey-hole and go get some!

There are severl objectives that were in use during any Ecelsior tourney in which I had partaken.  Incorporate these, and the snow board (and any other board, for that matter) become more balanced, therefore, more fun.

I will try to list the objectives once I recall  them all (I know you could, Archer).
If sing, sang, and sung, sink, sank, and sunk, and drink, drank, and drunk, how is it that it isn't bring, brang, and brung, think, thank and thunk, and ding, dang, and dung?

Don't even get me started about bad, badder and baddest.  Run, ran AND run...again?  C'mon!

Dave I think I have a copy of the objective sheet laying around, i'll try to find it.  Also if you want I can pick up 2 bags of the christmas village trees for $16.05 from Michaels (craftshop) 21 trees per bag, they have white bases and snow on the trees. Bought 2 for myself. ;D ;D

Archer - great game also. Liked your list and appreciate the great time. I should have used cover better on my left flank or maybe fell back to better location.

Would love to play again with anyone there.

Kool...

So when you want a rematch?  You can pick the board, as long as it's not the tarmac-esque snow board.  And if you really wanna play on that one, that's fine too.  Means I gotta get painting. :)

I will try  to make it up again to Dave's soon. Probably foe a Saturday afternoon - evening.
Always look out for number one, but don't step in number two.

What we used to use in Tourney

How to calculate the Victory Score:
(sorry you may need a calculator)
Player One is the player who won the fi rst Initiative roll of the game.
Total the amount of Player Ones force that survived, add to it the total of Player
twos army that was removed from play (or did not enter play) during the match.
Divide this by the total points value that was allowed for both armies at the
beginning of the match (a 1000pt tournament will be 2000 pts total, even if both
players only built a 997pt and a 999pt army respectively).

Player one total/Total of both Armies = Victory score (keep decimals)
Multiply this result by 20
(This will give you a result from 0pts to 20pts)
Victory Score =_______
Total survival bonus (100% survival of your force) +5
Total cleansing of opponent (100% destruction of opponents force) +3
Total Victory Score =_______

This round Objective score of your opponent (these are cumulative)
Please circle all objectives you scored during the game.
Options available to score this mission are highlighted:
Recovery +3
Held position +3
Successful demolition +3
Successful construction +3
Dispatched (killed) commander (highest LD value) +3
Dispatched (killed) elite (highest point squad) +3
1/4 encroachment +3
1/2 encroachment +3
3/4 encroachment +3
Total encroachment +3
Breakthrough +3
Delivery +3
Escort +3
Psychology +3
Please total all VS and Objective scores, sign and give to your opponent to sign
Victory Score & Objective Total____

THen we had the "Soft" Scores....

Win or lose, their army rocked this field! +1
