Now you've done it! Here we are having a nice discussion and you had to bring it up. You just had to didn't you. Went and ruined an entire conversation by mentioning pie. How dare you?!! Everyone knows that cobbler rules!!!!!!!  ;D

Cobler is very good, but my personal favorite is raisin pie. It is pretty easy to make - pie crust, soak raisins, sugar, spices and walnuts.

Mmm pie.

Well, there is Blackberry Cobbler....

I'll have both pie and cobbler!

...but we should ask Coil if he likes pie or cobbler better.   Of course, he might like torte, and this conversation will truly have devolved!

I'm with Hal - PeachCobbler, Cherry Cobbler - mmmmmmmmm, Cobbler.  I still don't know what the Cobbler's got to do with a monkey chasing a weasel, but...oh wait...where was I going with that....oh, yeah - PHILS ARE NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPS AND HEADED TO THE WORLD SERIES - WOOT! (Still don't know how that bench fits in, though - POP!  Friggin' weasel...)

As for me, my favorite is Apple cobbler but you know some folks call cobbler, Deep Dish Pie.

Personally, I don't care what you call it, just be sure to call me before it gets too cold.  I like my cobblers warm with vanilla ice cream.

I had to look in Wikipedia to see what the difference was between cobbler and pie. Looking at those pictures I prefer my apples to be in a cobbler, although a tart Tatin can be quite nice as well.

I make a rather nice lemon pie myself or maybe it is a tart/torte.

Isn't a tart just the little pie that couldn't?

I like both, but prefer warm peach cobbler with homemade vanilla ice cream.  Still, I have to say that pies are much more versatile than cobblers...kind of like a switch-hitter in baseball (to remain current with American events).  Could you imagine a chicken pot cobbler?  How about a steak and cheese cobbler?  Pizza is also a pie...if we use Seamus' thought that cobbler is deep dish pie, then it pizza works for both.
