Lines we want Thom's fantasy game to support?
« on: September 17, 2008, 02:04:48 PM »
Since we know that Thom plans to support various miniature lines with the new rules (whatever they may be), what lines would you like to see new support for?

Here is mine:
Crucible
Deep Goblins by Alpha Forge Games
Forge of Ice figures (whatever they may be :D )
Cyclop's Forge (If he does new stuff as well)
Generic Fantasy Oriental (Rokugan stuff)
Also some Generic Fantasy Lists that we can fill in, maybe some plug and play units that have optional abilities for customization.

Admin Edit:  Feel free to provide links to these suggestions!!!

Oh yeah, we definitely need Benders from Avatar the Last Airbender, it is easy enough to not make them that specifically, but Elementalists who mold and change their respective element.

Okay, those are kewl!!!  As for being out of the loop, I don't know about anything that ain't cast in pewter!!   ???  Sad, really.

The good news for you enthusiasts of comics and anime is that Thom is much more on the same page you guys are on.  He used to run a comic store some time ago, and he still buys a buttload of comics from Greg at Between Books in Claymont Delaware.

I love the idea of models like that.  The Anima Tactics game has some cool models; I wonder if Thom would stat stuff like that along those lines, or better yet, sculpt some!!

One of the best parts of swiping the Avatar concepts, is that you can simply make them unarmed fantasy Orientals and no one is the wiser, as they stole their designs from Oriental concepts, so long as nothing matches perfect, you are in the clear.

Works brilliant, I have found a fair few Dungeons and Dragons miniatures that work well repainted.  Whirling Steel Monk (lose swords) makes a great Firebender, the Earth Shujenja makes a great Waterbender, I have some others, but can't recall them off the top of my head.Ah well, hopefully someone will get off their tush and make some "Shapers"  I think it is a good alternate term.

Aquatic units, maybe even a couple of entirely aquatic armies.  Sea Elves, Sahuagin, Kappa, Frogmen, etc.

Gotta have the aquatic units.

I still really like your underwater fantasy game idea-it's virgin territory AFAIK and worth exploring.
VeezCon products:  Not as good as if they had been actually produced by a real figure company, but better than using your shoe to proxy with...sort of!

Awww, thanks, Glen!  My "Just Another Snake Cult" set will have generic rules with it, but it'd be great to see dedicated rules to a real game for them somewhere.

And it's a long ways away from complete, too.

Brigade Games has some cool minis that I'd like to se statt-ed out, and almost the entire Celtos line would look good next to Chronopia figures (if a bit small).

While the Leviathan human and humanoid miniatures are for the most part so ugly as to be unuseable, some of their larger monsters and warmachines are pretty cool, I'd love to see stats for their dwarven tanks and war robots.

The Leviathan range has some very good models in it.I agree totally with Alex that the miniatures are not what they could have been. The Dwarf Golem's are very nice models and quite a few different options for them too.The Dwarf miniatures are some of the best in the range. They have one bracing a spear which is one of my favorites.
The Orc and Goblin beasts are easily changed with GW plastics instead of the original ones supplied.

There are loads of possible miniatures lines that would be cool to have stats to use in Chronopia games.Crocodile games miniatures could be used in the Land of Two Rivers.Imagine Basti fighting the Stygian,Heru taking on the Devout  and Totanem taking on the Dwarves.Vor the Maelstrom Growlers would be nice to see stat's for too.
