A new Warzone gamer enters the fold.....
« on: August 15, 2008, 07:33:01 PM »
Tonight was a great night. My son (just turned six last Tuesday) brought a copy of Chronicles to me at the dinner table. He sat it down in front of me and said "I want to learn how to play THIS".

That's my boy!

In the immortal words of Marv Albert, "YES!"
If sing, sang, and sung, sink, sank, and sunk, and drink, drank, and drunk, how is it that it isn't bring, brang, and brung, think, thank and thunk, and ding, dang, and dung?

Don't even get me started about bad, badder and baddest.  Run, ran AND run...again?  C'mon!

My boy is a very prodigal reader. He just finished reading JRR Tolkein's "The Hobbit".....so he's been reading some of my Warzone stuff. Not sure what army he wants to play yet, but it's looking like DL (he likes the monsters). I look forward to teaching him to paint minis one day....but at this point, his painting skills aren't on pace with his reading. LOL

I've said that as well, but my wife just looks at me, laughs, and says that it's just Gamer A.D.D.

I hear ya.  :) My oldest son started showing real interest in the games about 5-6. He began using rules about 7-8. He started on his dark Legion army at 10-11. Now at 14 he is playing sports and working on various fantasy, sci-fi and historical armies. He painted up about 48 Union figs in about 36 hours earlier this summer so he could field a Brigade in an ACW game I was running. Of course his command ended up fighting extremely well during the game. Saved the Union from being crushed.

I couldn't be happier!  ;D

Thanks,

John
