Wow.  Just....wow.

Okay, for dipping, you dip the fig and then flick the snot out of it, right?  I so want to try this out, but am uncomfortable with the process.

Tudor stain.  What color is that?  I have golden oak, honey pine and cherry at home due to real life woodworking.

Great painting on the figures. Bases are awesome alos.

For a good tutorial on dipping check out "The Army Painter" link below.

Their stain is very expensive. I get the same results from Tudor Satin (very dark stain almost black).

Minwax is your friend....  http://www.minwax.com/products/one_step_stain_and_finishes/polyshades.html#Colors

Tudor is the stain color you are looking for.

The cherry stain you have might be interesting on a figure that needs a red hue, but on flesh, it may end up making your flesh tones look sunburned.   Golden oak is too light to get the shading you typically want on a figure.  Honey pine is both too light, and would make your figures look more yellow that you probably want.   Of course, experimentation might result in some new ideas.

I use The Army Painter Dark Tone, so I have no experience with Tudor Satin. Maybe results are similar.
Technique: http://www.thearmypainter.com/videogallery.php?videoid=3
But I remove snots more vehemently then showed in video (so I left very little quantity of dip on figures).

Thanks, fellas!  I literally have hundreds of minis to paint and this method would greatly speed up my process.  If I get this right, the process is:

1. Base coat
2. Paint main colors on the fig
3. Perhaps highlight certain areas
4. Dip and flick
5. Seal with matte spray

That's it, right?  That seems too easy...

The steps above should work.

This method give good table top quality troops.  Keep the paint jobs simple, and the dip takes care of shading and covering transition lines where you might normally "miss a spot".  And you can always go back and paint in more detail or do some highlighting at a later date.

The figures look great! I love the color scheme - it goes very well with the dip shading. I've tried a couple squads with dipping with average results; I think a little too much dip stayed on the figure. your figures look awesome though.

Thanks for comments. I removed most of dip and drops with quite large brush (need to wipe out into piece of cloth).

Thank you. I mady two holes into base in right points, then shorten wire. After append to figure is the holes glued up with epoxy adhesive from bottom of the base.

Very pretty.  I am envious.  ;D
If sing, sang, and sung, sink, sank, and sunk, and drink, drank, and drunk, how is it that it isn't bring, brang, and brung, think, thank and thunk, and ding, dang, and dung?

I re-posted this image to reference my questions :)  What did you use for the random bits and ammo/shells on the bases? They look fantastic and really add to final result. I'm also intrigued by this dip/varnish technique. I've never done it before or have heard much about it. How long does the overall process take? I'll need to read up on this.

Bases are bought from Dragon Forge Store. My bases are Wasteland 2 series:

The longest time last preparing and painting process. Diping is very quick. Overall it takes much less time than my classic shading/highlighting method and result is the same (if not better)  ;)
