Heh... I've got a few painted Elves, but only an odd single model here and there (same with Firstborn). My Devout army is the only one that ever got even close to being fully painted.
Incidentally, here's another pic (it's up in my displaced minis gallery, but I know some of you lazy gits can't be bothered to click on links...) with a story attached to it:
Basically, back in the day, I wanted a Devout Shadow Stalker for my army, but I couldn't be bothered to convert one for myself. At the time, I was working at the local games store, so I staged a "Conversion Contest!" where the contest was to convert a Devout Shadow Stalker. All entries became property of the store (read: mine!), but the prize was a 50$ gift certificate (don't know how I talked my boss into that...). This was during the Target Chronopia years, when new sourcebooks were still being published, several years before Excelsior took over and released their excellent but way-too-big (in my opinion) Shadow Stalker.
I just don't get the idea of 8-foot tall assassins... doesn't seem very sneaky...
Anyways, my friend Jason surprised me by entering the contest - he was (at the time) a die-hard 40K player, and he ONLY played Space Wolves. I asked him about it and he explained that he just had a whim to convert something, so he based this guy on an old Reaper lizardman with a little bit of putty and some pointy plastic Dark Eldar bitz. There are some fingerprint marks in the putty, but it was unquestionably the best entry (and there were only three or four entries), so he won the gift certificate and I got me a Shadow Stalker. I painted it up quick and sloppy and I've been using it ever since.
There's another story about how he (the Stalker, not Jason) fell on his keys one time and lost me a game...
