Now all I have to do is convince Serge to stay away from the table.

How many times are we going to get into an arguement about CC?

I'm betting on at least 5 times.

your being kind.
its a silly point he's making. It comes from not playing the game enough to see how well the rules work.
remember he's coming from GW game rules. I've seen alot people do that.

He sooooo wants in on the  maplewood warzone sweetness. He's trying to talk hinmself into not playing for some strange reason.  I've ask him to play but he said no.

Remember the cobra vrs bauhaus fight on titan?

what nerve gas and titan (how can I make it across the board in 6 turns ?) has taught me is to "stick to my guns" on rules call and not give in anymore when I know better.

Lessons learned....just helps us run better warzone games at  Maplewood.  ;D

I was actually coming up with some vague "campaign Point" rules for the campaign.

Basically, whenever a faction (Corporation or DL faction) wins a scenario, they get a certain number of points that can be spent on future scenarios, for things like buying Barbed wire so it doesn't need to come out of your build point total, to limited contol over a scenario, reinforcements, etc.  I figure with enough points, you can shift allegiences between factions, so you could build your army from different Corporations or somesuch.

(example: Capitol wins enough scenarios to be able to "buy" an alliance with Mishima.  For the next few scenarios, Capitol forces [regardless of player] can take Mishima units in their army build)

I figure this, combined with the narrative connection between scenarios, would make for some interesting strategies.

I like where your going with this.
I like buying barbed wire  (and similar things ) and reinforcements.
Not sure about getting units off list  (this can lead into serious game balance issues)
-though might change my mind on this...hmmmmm

How about forceing battle field contions...enough points and you can turn the scenerio into night time, Make it a middle of a snow storm or "getting the jump" where you use force cards the other army doesnt. Things like these could give a fun push to win to earn points.
hmmmmm.....we'll talk more on this on sunday.

wonder what people here in forum think.
how would you make this work? or drop the idea?
what do you all think?

We can come up with a rough outline for how this can work, and then post that, and see what everyone thinks.

I think its better to leave the Allies where they lie. I mean can you imagine a 1000 point force with a Capitol and Bauhaus alliance? I mean Strikers and Mortants with Dragoon sniper  and HI RL support? Orcas backed up with a skimmer. AssMars with Venusian rangers?!?!?!? Oh the Horror!!!
I like the idea of points being used to alter the enviornment tho and slightly alter the scenario. The terrain is the best idea especially when you have to defend something.

*nod*

I think we can get rid of the Alliance bit and not hurt the Campaign Point system.

If you have a copy of the 1st edition rules there was a section in the very back of the book with campaign rule which gave you experience points you could use to buy all sorts of stuff(abilities, equipment, spec weapons , etc)

Hmmm.... I'll have to give that a look.  From what I've seen, the points costs haven't changed too drastically between editions.
