Mercurian Maculator
« on: January 27, 2008, 12:55:39 PM »
As promised...rising from the lilipad dappled waters.

I added barnacles to his shoulder piece, dripped resin over him for the waterdrop effect, and molded lilipads on the base.

That is my favourite Merurian Maculator ever.

The base is especially nice and he really looks wet. The yellow splotches on his skin gives him a nice amphibian look.

Now get back to the painting table and provide us with more eye candy!

Thnx Coil.  Appreciate the kind words!  I looked at the cover of Beasts of War and was inspired.  Had a good time with this one.

That is beyond sweet. Gotta echo Coil - To the best of my recollection it is the best Maculator I have ever seen

Bonus points = What is the album cover framed on the wall in the first pic?

Man, I hate being outdone.  But, if I gotta be, then I am glad it is you, WZD.  Truly, top-notch.  Mine pales (literally and figuratively) in comparison.  I would post a pic of it, but I'd be guilty of MercMac-envy! ;D

The best compliment I can give - I want to repaint my Behemoth and myMaculator to look like yours.

P.S.:  I got no clue regarding the album cover.  I'll guess Boston.

If sing, sang, and sung, sink, sank, and sunk, and drink, drank, and drunk, how is it that it isn't bring, brang, and brung, think, thank and thunk, and ding, dang, and dung?

Don't even get me started about bad, badder and baddest.  Run, ran AND run...again?  C'mon!

Wow!  Really dig the light green scale effects on the Maculator.  And the base rocks as well!

@dmcgee - DING! DING! DING!  We have a winaaaaaah!

Good guess for having no clue.  It's part of a set of 16 diff. old covers I have on my office wall.

Thnx for the very kindly praises, I know my MerrcMac is so happy he wants to bite the heads off a Mishiman.

Seriously?  Wow, I thought I saw a familiar shape and color (and, I am color-blined, to boot), but thought that I was just taking the proverbial shot-in-the-dark.  Just goes to show, go with your gut, first-answer/guess, and you'll be surprised how often you're right. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank [insert favorite higher power here], Mom, the Philadelphia Phillies, Coca-Cola, and the London Philharmonic Symphony. Alex Trebeck may go take a flying leap - yeah!  ;D

Great work D,

The base definitely finishes of a great paint job on an figure I was always a bit iffy about but it looks good the way you have done it. Might even give it a try on mine which I have never painted yet  ;)

A particularly fine piece from top to bottom!
