Are Orcas allowed?
If so, I vote for Capitol.
Take the heavy FL and the optinal HMG Riders.
This Squad is very brutal in short distances.

Sorry Bro but against a well built Cartel force with Snipers and Darkslayer Mercs (Shotguns w/ Flamer Specs) the Cappys are gonna get fragged, bagged, and tagged not to mention quick fried to a crackly crunch. Cartel should just force the Caps to come down the corridors and light them up as they come. Since holding the ship is not an objective a running gun battle will play to the Cartel's strengths and exploit the 500 pound gorilla on Capitol's back - to whit Capitol must find and assassinate Nick Michaels. They can't sit or dig in - they must move and by moving they will run into a hornet's nest if the Cartel player has a basic understanding of Shipboard tactics. Now add a Mishima Doomtrooper team - the one best suited for this scenario IMHO - and it's Little Bighorn time for Capitol

I wasnt going to say too much about my army list but....Oh hell why not  ::)

Its funny you wrote this topkick I was thinking of a rough Cartel list last night and its
got ( still have to crunch the numbers) about 2 squads of darkslayers, Cartel police,Cartel agents, a sniper if I can fit it in and of course the man himself Agent Nick Micheals.
I didnt think of Mishima doomtroopers ( I never use doomtroopers in my cartel armies) but I can see them working in a scenario like this.

Its nice to see people having faith in the cartel but to be honest the last time I did a indoor warzone scenario I got my butt handed to me (damn indoor night fight rules >:( )

and I have small fear of seeing a hoards of Free marines rushing though halls of The Steiner Star.

I dont know Jibba.. even has orcas but its a big model and might be limited in movement by the narrow halls (it is a indoor scenario).

thanks for everones thoughts on this topic, keep'em coming. Its been kool reading on how these 2 armies can beat each other in this scenario.

Nope, no Orcas... although I could pick 'em up while I'm at the store. *evil grin*
However, I'd probably wait to use them in a non-corridor game, since I wouldn't think they'd fit on the ship.

This actually demonstrates the major difference between miniature battles and scenarios. Orcas would not be objectionable in a kill or be killed game but in a scenario the army lists must fit within the realities set by the scenario. Orcas make no sense logistically as they wouldn't fit in the corridors of the star-liner. By that reasoning they should not be allowed. Of course this is just my opinion - not a slam just one perspective.

Yes, thats my oppinion, too. That is, why I asked the question.
So Cap has to go with the Sunset Strikers and probably Desert Scorps if you play the CGF.
If you choose CNF take the Free and Assault Marine Combo.
For Support its diffucult. You can only take the Scout Bikes in this Scenario, if you want them.

Pegasi in close quarters can be nasty.  If it makes sense to take them in this scenario, then they could really turn the tide for you.   Charge them through and just do drive bys as much as you can, fifteen inches is a ton of range to cover.

A couple of under-rated and overlooked options are the Wailing Banshees and the K-9 Teams. Rapid movement and 2 flamer specs per squad make the Banshees a viable rapid strike force. They won't get any elevation but I don't think they need height to go forward. In addition the Banshee's could be used to outflank and/or quickly shift levels in a multi-level battlefield. K-9 Teams would be valuable in that the dogs go 5" per activation and can bust up ambushes while the foot troops advance. This prevents the Capitol player from stalling. The important point is to find Nick Michaels not eliminate enemy squads. This requires mobility which is one of Capitol's strongest assests. As we used to say at Fort Bragg - Retards Dig Foxholes. This was an altrernate definition of RDF which officially stood for Rapid Deployment Force

....thank the gods of pewter and war for flamethrowers to keep my mercs warm at night 8)
how did that O' cartel hoilday song go..oh yeah..."Roasting CAPTIOL over a open fire jack forst nipping at your nose.... yeah thats a good song.
                     MUWHAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAHA

On a serious note. Using k-9 units and scout bikes is really good idea (good use for unit I dont think anyone has ever thought of before)
plus you earn crazy kool points for having the bikes zipping around The Steiner Star ;)
Damn now I really want see how that would play out.

But Steve I knew all this when I made my original prediction that the Cartel would win. The Cartel needs to keep the faith and use it's strongest assets - volleys of template fire against troops advancing in confined areas followed up by aimed fire vs survivors. Utilize the snipers against the game breaker figs. The advantage of the double aim to pick target gaurantees you will slowly eliminate his LD and Specialist options. It will be a tough fight and the outcome will be in doubt but I am confident that as long as the dice don't go cold the Cartel will prevail in the end. Let us know how it comes out.

Well, the small confines should hamper the snipers a bit...
...at least I'm hoping. :p

True - the Cartel has many important things to do so you might want to ask Thom if he has an army list for the Intergalactic Boy Scouts. That might make it a fair fight...if the Boy Scouts leave their slingshots at home  ;D
