If you were a judge?

What do all of you look for in a allround painted miniature because i will try and make you people happy in my painting style.What should Armor look like?what should the weapons look like? How many base colors should there be befor the high lights?ect. ect
You earthlings will be mine hahahahaha

Go with what pleases you; if you want a realistic look use subdued tones and dirty washes.  If you want something more colorful go bright.  The painting and modeling section has tons of back posts with images of completed figures to draw inspiration.  I would be particularly drawn to a series that seems to have a seasonal theme-some subltle genius posted his figs there and they are worthy of the Louvre. 
If you figures don't make you happy; they certainly won't make anyone else happy.
VeezCon products:  Not as good as if they had been actually produced by a real figure company, but better than using your shoe to proxy with...sort of!
