Size of Mounted troops...
« on: December 17, 2007, 10:07:53 AM »
What is the actual size of Mounted troops.

Never toppled over this question before...strange....

Lets take a Mounted Hussar for example:

The rider has SZ 2
The mount has SZ 3

What does it make together?

The maximum Size of the largest model = 3
The division od the added SZ = 2,5
the normal addition = 5
Or half the riders size added, since he is sitteing = 4

I hope I haventījust overread something in the rules.
Solus honor cladem avertat !

SZ is an all-emcompassing (Height, breadth, mass, etc.) measure of the amount of volume taken up by a model.  As the model in question is the Mounted Hussar, it would seem to me that the overall SZ is that of the largest model of a unit that includes a rider.  Afterall, we do not add the SZ's of the models riding in a vehicle (Skimmer, transport, Purple Shark).  Further, when a Praetorian Behemoth clobbers a model and picks it up from the ground, the Behemoth is not suddenly SZ 8 until he launches said unfortunate model.

Do not overthink some rules - they are what they are, and are, usually, ruled by common sense and black and white print (yes, I know that sometimes the two conflict).

If sing, sang, and sung, sink, sank, and sunk, and drink, drank, and drunk, how is it that it isn't bring, brang, and brung, think, thank and thunk, and ding, dang, and dung?

Don't even get me started about bad, badder and baddest.  Run, ran AND run...again?  C'mon!
