Trans-Martian Railroad
« on: December 07, 2005, 07:04:15 AM »
I realize second edition turned the TMR into a huge battleship-sized juggernaught (and I'm not sure if this view has been retained) but in keeping with the imagry and concept from the Capitol Sourcebook I present, once again, Sean Patten at his best:

Sadly my platonic love for this man is tained by such envy.
Yes this is for the other game but I think most of his work can easily cross borders into the MC universe.

He probably got too many hits and used up his allowed bandwidth.  I was able to view it just now or it could have been down for some reason.

Anyway, glad to see Im not the only one with this idea, although my concept includes a full working model of the train on a special mars table.  I have the benchwork started on the table but that is as far as I've gotten.  I intend to use S-Scale which is the equivalent of 25mm and build a false shell for the locomotive to make it appear bigger.  Unfortunately real life got the in way of my hobby and I had to set it aside for a while.  BTW, I designed the table and terrain so that it can be broken down and transported.  Once I get it finished, I want to be able to cart this thing around to various cons and stores for exposition.  Total size will be five feet wide and eight feet long.

That's simply awesome!

This thread reminds me of a 2nd Ed scenario of the McCraig Line that I once ran.  In it, Caps had to hold off an Imperial advance long enough for the Juggernaught to bring in the reinforcements.  Imps had a 4 to 1 advantage but they had to cross a 3 foot kill zone with house rules for the Juggernaught launching in off board artillery.

On another note, I have to agree with Southpaw, it is very good to have Seamus back.  It just doesn't look right though having Seamus listed as a newbie.  ;)

Well, we'll have to see what we can do about that. :)

sounds like fun...once you get done with that insanity of yours down in the Falls, that might be something fun to try out...with certain limited guests that is...
