Dexcon 10 Battle Reports
« on: July 24, 2007, 04:37:56 AM »
To: His most Celestial Highness Lord Heir Moya
From: Enlightened Master Rokusabaro Michiba, Soshomora Temple
Re: Engagement report

While escorting the Lady Amataratsu on a mission of some importance our insignificant force of temple guards was attacked by a sizeable force of Cartel Peacekeepers, Doomtroopers, and Snipers lead by the gajin Sean Michaels.  I am pleased to report that they now litter the ground of Venus' band of winter as a reminder of Mishiman superiority.  No casualties to persons of significance to report.  Mission continued and completed successfully.

Humbly in your Service I remain,
Rokusabaro Michiba, Enlightened Master
Soshomora Temple

Ok, it was a pretty wicked Cartel Force played by our resident Dragon (Phil) filled with shooty troops and multi-wound models (we'll have to ask him for the complete list) versus my Mishima "Temple Guards" list.

First turn I was a bit tentative as he had deployed a 12 or so man squad filled with shotguns far out on my right flank and all I had there to stop it was a squad of faceless, and one squad of Sohei.  But deploying the Shadow Walkers in the middle of my line eventually paid dividends as they (and some of the faceless) decimated that squad.  Most of the rest of his force was not exactly designed to handle the full frontal meele assault that followed.  While the good lady was largely ineffective for anything but holding the shotgunner's attention the monks and tiger dragons dealt a heavy toll among the rest of the Cartel's forces.  After taking out a sniper, bogging down his shotgunners and picking them off, and decimating the agents, doomtroopers, and Michaels it was a foregone conclusion.  Not without casualties on my side, I still say it was a pretty decisive win for Mishima.

Re: Battle Report

The 109th regiment Romanov Hussars supported by elements of the 7th Viktor, 21st Blitzers, and a crack squad of Wulfhead Dragoons engaged and destroyed a Dark Legion force believed to be of Semai origin.  Casualties were lighter than expected for a Dark Legion engagement and the enemy seemed unfocused on any objective other than throwing themselves in the way of our weapons.  Morale is high and we press on towards objective Delta Fox X-ray.  Will report in at the pre-determined intervals using the pre-determined freqs.  von Juntz out...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This one was over QUICKLY.  Phil's Semai army is pretty formidable (again he'll have to post his list) but the terrain and my deployment favored my army more.  A bit less cover and Phil's infiltrators might have carried the day for him, but he wasn't prepared for the surprize I had in store for him on my left flank....

With his opening move Phil infiltrated a Large squad of grunt types and a squad of Calistonian somethingor others to within 4 - 10 inches of my left flank.  Unfortunately for him that was where my hussar Flame Thrower was deployed.  3 activations later and most of his two units were a smoldering heap ripe for my Viktors to pick off (which they did).  This effectively eliminated Phil's right flank and left me able to concentrate on rolling up his right side.  The ducals and the HMG Hussars on my right flank fared a bit worse thanks to lousy dice on the HMG specs.  Though the wolfheads did manage to plug the gap while the Viktors could redirect their fire.  By the time the 3rd or 4th turn rolled around I was deploying the paradropped blitzers behind his sniper on my right and had managed to take it out.  His forces remaining were 2 individuals and a squad of support that...if they'd been able to move faster...might have put the hurt on me.  A very decisive win for my House Romanov force that could easily have gone the other way had Phil thought about that Hussar FT spec before rushing my left.

SHaun...  I dunno about Jeff but the Masherking has ducked out of a number of fights lately.  Perhaps Lord H has finally decided to not leave his brother's behind.  Oh so totally greek...  but what would one expect from a leader running around in an oversize jock and a hockey mask?

Iron Panda... well, I dunno what he was thinking.
