Old pic of the first tunnel fighter green is here:
http://www.kerlin.de/chronopia/armeen/dwa_031.php

It doesn't quite look like that any more.  Had to resculpt about 75% of it.  Pain in the ass, but the end result is better figures.   Eight hundred more rivets and the sculpting will be done.  EE will have them next week, can't give you an answer on the release date though.  Glad you're digging the new models!

Matt,
1-will there be three sculpts for these guys, or two?  The leader of the unit has a two handed sword, and the grunts should have two poses, standard procedure for this game.

2-any chance of puttin' some of your sculpting tutorials on this site?  My question is how one goes about sculpting all those tiny rivets without going crazy.

Cheers.

All I'm doing is two grunts with spears.  There's been no mention to me of a leader figure at this point.

Adrian Smith does seem to have a rivet fetish ;).  Easiest way to do rivets is to place a small piece of putty on the figure,  punch out the rivet with a lubricated tube, and remove the excess.  I use a mechanical pencil with no lead in it.  A HUGE sculpting "tutorial" of sorts will be ready by the end of November if all goes well, so you'll just have to be a little patient there!  If I get any smaller tutorials up in the meantime, I'll let you know.

Thanks,
Matt

Tunnel Fighters don't have blind fighting. Why?

I put this idea up on the old forum too.  I agree it's right in the fluff, and I don't know how that got glossed over.  It would be really nice to see this corrected even if it means adding a little to the cost of the troop.  Let's see if we can get this corrected with Thom and co.  Cheers.

Okay, continuing this thread I have to say that the Tunnel Fighters should be a generic troop available to all the clans and not specific to the Blood-Bones.  A unit that would be able to be added to any Dwarf Army with no bearing on the current clan point breakdown.  I was reading the Dwarven Labyrinth sourcebook and saw that this unit also had a champion and a musician; the musician granted the unit outmanoever in subterranean battles!

I liked the logic on that one, we have a musician around who allows us to sneak up closer to the enemy ... ??? ;)

That's some serious thread necromancy there Josh. :)

I know it sounds crazy Coil, but it's in the sourcebook!  The point I was really hoping for is that this unit should be like the Fire Thrower--a Clan Council unit available to all.  I could live without the musician and champion for the unit, but as long as I'm daydreamin'...  Cheers.

P.S.  there's about a split second before the impact of their heavy throwing spears when you get to hear the horn blast.

P.P.S.  I guess I'm allowin' my enthusiasm to get the better of me.  When the hell are these troops available?

Lastly, I hope you enjoyed your holidays.   Cheers.
