Nice stuff...

One of the next items up for testing out here is the following..

Colonel Michael Hoare and the Irregulars

Colonel Hoare is a professional Mercenary, employed by Cartel and Corporation alike.  He does not care where his money comes from, just that he gets paid the right amount and paid on time.

No job is too risky for this merc leader- just more expensive to purchase his services...

His men are no better, being the sort one finds in a cheap Capitol dive bar or seedy Imperial pub.  As such, they are some pretty ruthless individuals, looking for that extra Crown or other buck so they can by another round.

Colonel Mike Hoare  :Linked Individual, 1 per army
    Cc9 rc10 pw4 ld14 ac3 wd4 st5 mv4 ar20
Gear: Imperial Mandible Shotgun, Punisher Pistol
abilities: Unit leader, Deadshot, Inspiration 5

The Irregulars
grunt unit- 4 to 12 troopers plus sergeant; up to 3 specialists
Trooper:  cc7 rc7 pw4 ld10 ac3 w1 s4 mv4 ar17 pc 18
Gear: Various Assault Rifles (stats of M50 but may take loadout), bowie knife

Sergeant: cc8 rc8 pw4 ld13 ac3 w1 s4 mv4 ar18 pc 23
Gear: as trooper and  punisher pistol
Shotgun Spec: stats as trooper, pc 20
 Gear: m516, bowie knife
LMG Specialist (stats as trooper) pc 24
Gear: bowie, Capitol M606 or Bauhaus LMG
Grenade Launcher Specialist: as trooper, pc30
  Gear: Capitol GL, m13 Pistol

Abilities: Unscrupulous.  Sgt: As trooper plus Tactical Sense

***

In theory, one could field Hoare and three squads of these guys, some Dark Slayers and a small unit of Field Agents as an Observer Team... and have a fluffy neat army.

looks good...
but from my mind, the military ranks should be granted more proportional.... colonel arenť be linked individual.... i think captain is maximum for this.

i have in 'my world' constitute cartel authority known as 'MPC' - mercenary patriarch collegium, which is top-rated authority for mercenaries officer ranks...

 ;)

I would agree... but it is possible The Colonel was a colonel in a Corporate force and left their service to go private.  Hence, his keeping the Rank.

Besides... in the american south, there have been alot of Colonels- far more than what would have actually retired/survived the Civil War and such.  Quite a few of them were enlisted at best. :)

If new Merc units were introduced I'd be interested less in simply rogue Corp units and more in new races or troops from renegade nations from terraformed planets.

Exotic specialty troops like the Mumakil riders of the LOTR, or Space Privateers (there has to be some kind of pirating in the UWZ universe) world or the UWZ equivalent of a Nubian Zebra cavalry.

The Cartel, tired of not being able to get the information they needed from various seedy groups, decided to rememdy that situation. The best way to find things out, they figured, is to get someone on the inside. Preferably more than one someone. Who better to get inside than one of their own. So from the ranks of the Darkslayers they chose the best females. They train them in impersonations skills and short range assaination. When the time is right, if you take the head, the body will die. If found out, they dont exist. If succesful they retire with the gratitude of the Cartel and a sizeable bank account.

Undercover Angels

Elite Unit
2-4 units/squad

CC10 RC9 PW3 LD11 AC3 WD3 ST6 MV4 AR19 SZ2 PC50

Gear: Lady Killer SMG < Use PC-606 Hellstorm stats>, Lipstick Dagger < Use wolfclaw stats>

Abilities: Carnivorous Birth < couldnt think of a good alternative name but this is the concept I want> , Killing stroke

I was messing around and think this would be a nice unit to have available. Not over powered IMO but can be a tide turner if used correctly. What do you think?

Hey Archer, What do you think of the above unit?

Interesting concept  but based on the description I think the following woud be better:

1-3 units/squad

CC10 RC8 PW3 LD11 AC3 WD2 ST4 MV4 AR18 SZ2 PC45

Gear: Lady Killer Machine Pistol < Use MP-105 stats>, Stiletto < Use bowie stats>

Abilities: Impersonation , Killing stroke

She is an assassin.  And one that hides among the common troops... waiting for her chance to strike and lop off that head thats needs lopping.

Hell... in most circumstances, she's more effective than the Hood's assassin.  And cheaper too.

Have you considered doing up Freelancers and Bounty Hunters the corporations can hire as cannon fodder skilled experts that they are not financially liable to?

Long time ago.  Thom had it handed to him as a file back in 2004.  It was planned to be dealt with once things settled- which it never did.  If I can find my notes, I'll send you a copy.

@Hood's Assassin's effectiveness - Yes, as discussed on this forum - that's not entirely his fault.  ;)

I'm waiting for the obligatory "Bounty hunters!  We don't need their kind of scum!" line.

"Bounty Hunters?  We don't need no stinkin' Bounty Hunters!  We have plenty of paper towels... why would we need someone to hunt more?."

I cannot locate my nots on them man.  I know I got em, so I'll do more digging.
