http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/survivorman/bio/bio.htmlWatched this program on the Discovery Channel the other day and it's quite good. The host, Les Stroud, is compelling and has a very laid-back, down to earth attitude that draws you into the show and really feel for his plight. To sum the program, he's dropped off in the middle of a wilderness, arctic wasteland, swamps, middle of the ocean, just to name a few, (just by himself, no camera crews) with just the barest equipment and loads of camera gear, and for seven days, he has to survive on whatever means he can. And to make things harder for him, has to film his routine. A common technique he does is plant a camera, explains the audience that he will travel yonder glacier, mountain, gorge, etc. and walks off dissapearing into the horizon. Then he comes back after the camera.
Great and informative show. Very useful when one's stuck in the inhospitable parts of this planet.
