Hey, others see Mitch Hunter.  I see Top - no Icon needed for that guy (though I might add M.E. to it ;))

I already got one in the the works for the Dragon.

*edit: removed due to just positive board policy, see post below *

p.s.: there was really NO intention to be overly negative, just a user feedback..
-> to make the icons was, of course, very nice,
but the writing on them is +*insert positive critic phrase of your choise+*

p.p.s.: i think that the negative karma buttion should be restricted to insults or similar things..
-> also, if you feel negative about me, think about a PM instead ;)..

i just wanted to point out that the font was hard to read at this size!

i offer this:

vs.

just used arial size 5 and 6 with some black pixeling work (at 800% zoom)

not perfect, but better to read, i think. at this size, the software tries to make the font smaller by using shades of gray -> the text looks smeared and a long word like jibba... is damaged

The edit on the icon makes it look much nicer - thanks, Aldrien.  I did not see original post.  No offense would have been taken, I'm sure.

I saw the original post and while not a winner in the warm fuzzy category it was not worth  negative feedback. From his post I infer that Aldrien was awarded some. I applaud him for voluntarily editing himself in the interest of forum harmony. We tend to forget that not everyone on this board is a native english speaker. I have used translation programs and they do not always work. I also speak spanish and when I was at my most fluent, native speakers sometimes misunderstood me. Let's take a moment to have a group web-hug and back to business as usual.  ;D

The short, national nightmare is over.  Let's just get back to the business of running the forum.

thanks for your understanding.

i admit, that i used a bit harsh style to critizise the writing on the icon, and i will chose my words more careful. i said that before, but appearently i have a different threathold of what is insulting..

i may call something suboptimal (not what i wrote in the edited post...) without calling the maker to be this!

I took your original post as an insult, hence the "smite". The hard work of people on this forum both on the boards and in projects needs to be applauded, not torn down. And yes this is the "sensitive american" talking again.

Why should I give you the courtesy of a PM when you didnt show the same courtesy to a fellow board member. Respect is earned not given, thats a worldwide axiom.

Although I stand by my earlier statement, I can see Philly's point. My personal motto is that I give everyone respect until they prove they are not worth it. Hopefully as Veez said it is over and we can move forward. I'm not asking everyone to give a net-hug but at least go back to neutral corners til the bell, okay?  ;D

That being said, I can definitely relate to standing up for a friend. I used to be famous for my vocal and pugnacious defense of Thom and others on previous incarnations of the forum. We are tight family here, and among the family there are small groups of brothers who are closer than blood kin. I am lucky enough to have friends of that caliber and it appears that Dave has at least one. That makes Dave and I lucky men.
