Shadow Tribe list
« on: December 22, 2006, 01:45:25 PM »
How's this look for 1000:
Monarch
Wyrd
6 Hearth Guard
5 slingers
7 tribal warriors
7 tribal warriors
4 unliving

I included some wiggle room for banners, horns, and spells.
A damned and 5 bloodhunters take it up to 1500.

That a feasible army?  Suggestions
I came this close to dropping about $200 on the Rackham figures and parts to build it.  Thought I'd run it by you guys first.

Thanks,
Matt

I think it looks like a nice Shadow Tribe list. I think Wedge has used something similar to crush me.

Not bad at all sir...

Personally, only for flavor's sake, I'd go with another squad of unliving...
You could take away one of the tribal squads and have two larger Unliving Squads--they make great missile soaks.

So something like:

4 HG + Chieftain + STB (Deflection) = 198
4 Tribals + Chieftain + STB (Deflection) + Swordsman = 207
6 Unliving = 108
6 Unliving = 108
5 Slingers = 140 w/ Cursed shot of your choice (7-15 more points)

Monarch = 102
Wyrd = 80 (40 more w/ Wall of Thorns, Savage Roots, and Voice of Despair)

That would be 990-998 points

Depending on the type of cursed shot you could also change one of your standards or swap out for a HG Hornblower instead.  Mix and match to your own liking.

As for adding Devout, you are spot on.  The Damned and Blood Hunters would add great mobility in the form of beastial cavalry.  Good luck!

I prefer the persecutors,  I was planning on using them as hearthguard, but I just found some good ol' Khador Doomreavers that might do the job.

I had my eye on the Doom Reavers as well.  The SOK are prolly the most easily proxied army, hands down.

I'm bidding on a huge lot of the old Leviathan barbarians on ebay.  I think they would make good Shadow Tribe proxies(if I can get them cheap enough).  They look a little "devolved" but I think thats a look I would like for my Shadow tribe.
Its not the dog in the fight, its the fight in the dog!

There are a lot of good barbarians in the Celtos range as well as the Black Tree Design lines.
