Need...motivation...
« on: October 01, 2006, 03:46:15 PM »
Does anyone else have that point in a project where they look at the figs and think they look just awful?  I'm at that point with my cartel stuff and just not wanting to muscle through and finish the job for some reason.  My lack of paint dicipline is shameful.

I usually hit that point somewhere between taking the mini out of the case and opening the paint box  ;D

Well, any figure with paint on it is better than no paint on it!

you can always do it better later (yeah...)

the point is: donīt do sluggisch work and be happy what you get!!

I want to paint my armys in a 2 colors+metal style and be happy. you will NEVER paint 2-3 armys in a careful manner... exept you are a good fast painter.
(but if you were, you would be finished already..  ::))

my capitol, for example: elites will be spayed blue, armor plates white. guns black and details silver. done.
grunts: sprayed green. armorplates painted brown, heads (li) brown. guns and details black and silver.

the cybertronic guys will all get chromespray and black wash. perhaps some green/blue/red detail at wires/symbols.

will this look nice??? no if you pick them up. yes if they fight!

so, stop surfing and start painting... (uhhh I just got 16 assault maries... oh the work....)

I thought I'd be clever and come up with a new camo scheme for some of the cartel figs but in the end I wound up going back and doing them all up in a blue/black scheme.  I decided that the police SWAT team look was more their style.  The bright side is that they were easier to paint so they will be done on projected schedule (most likely Thursday).
