Seems a little quite here and I wanted to share some of my recent Chronopia projects to at least give some of you something cool to look at. However I have had some issues linking images. Is there a post or can someone share with me what is the best way to link images to a post.
Thanks, Jr_boyd

I normally use photo-bucket to post pictures.

Got it figured out

Working on Goblin Spearmen now...
-
I will start a new thread tracking my progress... ;D
-
Nice work on these pieces.Did you sculpt the hammers or take them from other miniatures?
-
They were provided by privateer press Trollkins. However don't worry no Trollkins where injured in the process they are duped in resin.
-
They look good!
-
The hammer heads fit in really well with them.
-
I was giving Josh and Thom a hard time because I think they look better with hammers than spears. Don't get me wrong they look great with spears but I was quite please with the final product.
Here is the Blood Bone Tunnel fighter champion

-
Did you took the sword from Drakon Sul from Celtos?
Your dinner looks GOOD.... :P
-
Yes I did and Yes it was! ;)
-
Here is one of my new Bloodhunters, I will be making 5 , I shaved off all the hoses and removed the grenades. The pants are modern but I think I can leather them up to make them look correct.
I also converted one of Francesco's Trolls to a standard troll to go with the Death Seeker. If you don't own one I would go to Ghamak and get a Troll - What are you waiting for go!!!

Great additions to your collection.
-
You've been busy!
Are the blood hunters WZR figures?
-
Yes, I used the new necromutants as the base model, cut off hoses, grenades, swapped parts with fantasy kits from GW and PP. The finished product looks great! Well I think...
-
Sweet bloodhunter proxies. I like them a lot. Too bad I already made some bloodhunter proxies, or I would have copied yours.
-
Thanks, but to tell the truth it was seeing what you did that made me start figuring out how I wanted to make mine. Your mace men are pretty rocking.
-
great work!!!
-
Where did you get those javelin bits? I assume those are resin minis (the new warzone?). Yes it makes a great model for what your doing.
The bloodhunters turned out fantastic. I do like how you did those warhammers.
I have all those models (ie the units your trying to make). I'm going to prime mine and paint them soon enough.
Keep up the great work. It is cool to see others work too.
-
Well, if you have any extra. I would love to get my hands on a couple. I would like one of each of the Destert Warriors but I have had no luck. I would not hurt my feeling to find a couple of Scouts as well.
Stay tuned - Dark Tusk Blood Totem Conversion coming soon!
-
A friend and I have started painting my massive Chronopia collection and here are some of the first pictures. These where done by him and he does contract work if anyone is interested. I will post a picture when the Entire Clan is done. I will post my Dark Tusk as well. I have to say some people make fun of the scale and proportions of these figures but they paint up well and look great on the table.

These look really nice and i love the red armour on them too.Full of character. They are really great miniatures and some of my favorite Dwarves of all time.

Here is Andrew's Dwarf Marksmen from Four A miniatures. This miniature is FANTASTIC, I was not sure I would like it when i first saw it online and when I got it I was blown away as to how good it was. Painted it looks even better!
On a side note Andy is awesome to deal with, great communication, helpful and easy to do business with.

Love the new additions to your collection.
How about a group shot of them all together?
Will you be doing full units?
Also what will be next?
Thanks for the plug too ;).
-
Here is what is done so far, I have one complete unit of each type for each clan to paint. Should have the dark tusk and Vulture done by end of November.

I´m usually not a fan of using yellow mix for gold and brass, but this is very appealing and to the highest standard! Karma.

-
Never seen these painted as well as yours.
-
Well as much as I would like to take credit - unfortunately I can't. Most of these where painted by David Stoddard of Kid Solvent Paint who is a friend of mine from Idaho. I just told him how I wanted them and colors and he does the rest. I am particular about how my stuff looks and I knew he would do a good job. I paint about 75% of this quality and he paints about 200% better he considers this a budget paint job. I mean seriously....right?
-
Very nice additions to your collection.Looking forward to battle reports on the Kinslayer wars too ;).
-
Great looking Dwarfs you have there I like the colours you had them painted in David has a really nice clean painting style thanks for the pictures.
-
I am really impressed by the highlights technique of your friend. Especially because it's something I'm not able to do...
I just can do some shadows with the "washing" technique, but this is something really pro!
The choice of using tunes of gray instead of metal reminds me of the Rackham official pictures, which were a very good thing to look at. Your friend David rules ;)
Unluckily, I'm too far to ask him to paint my stuff too, otherwise I think I'd think to...
Maybe it's not an elegant question, but I ask just to have an idea and a comparison with other painters... how much did he ask for this job?
You're obviously free to give me no answer.

obscenely talented.

Very nice.Getting quite a little force going now.

Tunnel Fighter Champion, i would say that conversion turned out pretty sweet. I have a surprise coming up my mauler and keeper - we will see how they turn out.

Here is my Mauler, Did some heavy conversion on the claws and for Joshua the thumbs are both correctly oriented. I also added the rock and archway. He looks like a seasoned warrior who can get the job done... Thoughts? Enjoy - Keeper is coming...

Great conversions. I recognize the dwarf, as I've got him too. :P I would have used a more armored model, but he looks the part. Looking forward to seeing what else you get up to this year.
-
Totally agree on the Armor and I went back and forth on that several times - however I decided this character had more flavor and if I hated the way it looked Andy has a new one on the way. I had a dwarven linebacker ready to covert and changed in the last second.

-
More great additions to the painted collection.Like the choice of using blue on the Wolves.Makes them seem cold and hard as nails ;).
-
The wolves color was chosen by he concept art for the Desert Warriors. I also wanted each army to feel like a group on the table they have such a varied look due to the different interpretations from the sculptors. Color has really pulled the groups together.

Been busy with life but I thought I would share my latest creations...

On a side note, i am very close to having complete units of all the figures however I am still missing a few. If you have any of these and would consider selling them let me know. For those of you who feel the need to post the obligatory "holy crap dude those are impossible to find" I know and thank you in advance. I will be posting pictures of each army in it entirety for you to enjoy feel free to leave feed back. Other projects I am working on are new deployment cards and scenario cards that I will have in printable and sharable format. I am still looking at how I want to do the scenario cards so if you have any ideas please share. I see this working as each army will have set number of scenario cards specific to that army, before the game you mix the cards and select one card. Game on! I am considering meshing the FAQ/Corrections into a new rule book - but this is a back burner project.

-
John your going too far. You just made one of the best conversions I've seen. A wolf clan totem.
Where did you get that head piece. It is a perfect addition to the model.
Can't wait to see the Wolf Clan models together. What have you done for the Wolf Totem?
-
Well....unfortunately I think I am going to go with Warp wolves from Privateer Press. I also have decided to deviate from the Chronopia Mythos - I cann't reconcile in my mind how the Keeper can transform into the Wolf Totem and grow an additional head (fantasy, I get it but - no). I thought about converting a giant 40K wolf but it would be costly and once again did not like the two head thing. So unless someone can sway me we are going Warp wolf. I also decided to use the Griffons from Hoards as well because in the Chronopia Mythos it says the Vulture Totem is one of the smallest Totems and it can Fly. I keep looking at the Terror bird and it just did not work for me so Griffons it was. Plus the Griffons looks so bad ass.
-
A few more wolves...
-
We really need a two headed Keeper. :-\
-
when you say we...do you mean I have to make one..? that smelled like the "Royal we" as in me not you. Joshua I have enough respect for you that if you say I have to have one I will make a two headed Keeper. I was going to put my effort into a Totem but one Keeper coming up.
-
The wolf totem has 2 heads and thus it has 2 attacks in the game. The main thing is it would have an acid spittle (ie an attack with residual damage) and if you gave it one head, I'd say keep it with 2 attacks and just call it the fact it's main thing is speed. So if it had one or two heads ultimately does not matter, but does it fit the original fluff, no probably not.
Would I or most players of the type that would hold that against you and say 'sorry dude you can't field that'. Nope, for most of us we don't care.
Unforunately the sculptors of the industry don't have many two headed dog/wolf models that are off huge size. I have seen models which would be great chronopia models but just not that. If you found a warp wolf and it is of the right size. I'd say go for it.
https://www.google.com/search?q=warpwolf&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=zGzWVMPqCYu-ggSBtIKQBg&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1344&bih=686#imgdii=_&imgrc=NvwfJ5UuavnXDM%253A%3BQV4B5ogh1wIemM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fimages.dakkadakka.com%252Fgallery%252F2011%252F5%252F22%252F224777_sm-Circle%252C%252520Feral%252C%252520Hordes%252C%252520Orboros%252C%252520Warpwolf.JPG%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.dakkadakka.com%252Fgallery%252Ftag%252F3199-Warpwolf.html%3B500%3B375
Here is a link to the warp wolf and we should note that Hordes is pretty much a modern replacement game for Chronopia in many ways, in that it filled that niche. The model is of the right size and like the old VOR growlers I see people modifying the model and there is one model that makes a great VOR growler in fact.
But yes this model works very well and is essentially a Wolf Totem. I say go for it. In fact I might find myself buying a couple of them.
-
Your links is one of the Warp wolves I was going to use. I have done such a good job keeping with the background now I am questioning my choices. I am going to ponder this one a little more. So in my wolf frustration here is what I did today. The Sons of Kronos have always been my favorite faction. In the second addition they added Warhawks for the hunter to use. Well I did not want to use the same hunter that I use to run my dogs so had to find and make some Proxies...
What do you think

Okay, my creativity is flowing and my wife and kids have left me most of the day. A couple of people have asked me how is my painting. Here are two of my Devout Swordsmen I painted today.

Last one tonight,
The only faction I have not been able to put together is the Swamp Goblins. I have post all over the internet and not much in the way of bites. So if I don't find some soon I am going to have to start converting. These are the proxies I am thinking of using they will take quite a bit of conversion work but It might be worth it.
Possible Headhunters
(http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/14556_w_1_zps064334b3.jpg) (http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/14488_w_1_zpseb7b229e.jpg)
Possible Heavy Spears
(http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/06185_G_1_zps7925a713.jpg)
Possible Webmasters
(http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/06191_G_zps2a81c596.jpg)
Possible Heroes
(http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/14486_w_1_zps4b86ca8f.jpg) (http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/14485_w_2_zps555d0d0a.jpg) (http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/14487_w_1_zpsaef6cc3c.jpg) (http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/14616_w_1_zpsa95d5e11.jpg)
I would do some heavy conversions here, weapons, heads, nets and some other small details? Thoughts?
I hope I don't have to go this route but it is not looking good for the Swampies.
-
Like the Warhawk proxy miniatures.Nice bases too.Where is the handler miniature from?
I still need to go digging to see what i have left from the Swamp Goblins and other pieces that you need.

WAIT... I totally dig the Wolf Totem, where did that come from. That is AWESOME. I figure you blended two models but you hit it on the head! Point me in the correct direction and I will put mine together ASAP. The female hunter is a reaper model from the Pathfinder line. I made all the bases for the War hawks and they turned out great, the pictures do not do them justice.
Okay, your Terror bird the the BEST one i have seen and I still don't like it. It looks just like the picture in the book - however it says in the description it can become airborne. That Bird is not get of the ground with anything short of a catapult.
Any Swamp Goblins you can help me out with will be eternally appreciated! I plan on using your barbarians for the Burning blades so I will be putting a order in soon I was waiting to see if any new dwarves made their appearance. I will have to mod them with fire on the blades of course but I look forward to it! If I tried to do what you did for the SOK it would be renamed from Wyrd to Weird. ;)
Always good to hear from you!

The Wolf totem is from the old Leviathan range. The game before Chronopia.Link to the model below which is from Scotiagrendel.I dropped them a message to see if they could do an extra head. That and a bit of trimming and green stuff did the job well enough for me.
http://www.scotiagrendel.com/Products/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=221_222_44&products_id=2791
I really like Alex's take on the Vulture totem.I think a bit of wriggle room works with it.
The Son's of Kronos piece was my go at a Wyrd.I could not remember the name of the character.Been way too many years since i looked at the rules books.
-
Anyone got an extra Keeper model?
-
I have an extra Keeper and I might be able to help you if you want him to look like mine.
-
when you say we...do you mean I have to make one..? that smelled like the "Royal we" as in me not you. Joshua I have enough respect for you that if you say I have to have one I will make a two headed Keeper. I was going to put my effort into a Totem but one Keeper coming up.
Your productivity meter is in the red, and revving. Mine is slow as molasses. I'd love to see your take on it. This thread is fantastic.

Hey Guys, this is a lonely forum. Okay I was at work today and I was very bored. So I took an hour and whipped up some concept cards and printed them. Take a look...
The card layout I did is faction graphic, faction name, deployment card at bottom and a position arrow at the top for the leader per Horned God's suggestion.
Scale to old cards
(http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/IMG_0662_zps098f59aa.jpg)
So pretty neat uh, I am not sure how I want to proceed. I think I want stats not pictures. I think I like the size. I am going to create some styles for the fronts fixing the type. This is also how I plan to make the scenario cards. So if you would like some input please sound off and let me know how you think they should/could/better look and I will make them. When I am done I will send Daargim, Manic, Joshua and Horned God a complete set free of charge. Anyone else that has feedback that I use i will give them a set. So, lets hear it.
-
I don't see the center point. I assume the image with the repulsar knight type model is the back of the firstborn deployment card. The card needs a center point in the middle of the card to know where to place the first model. I suppose you can eye ball it, but a point is if not useful, necessary. It is either the unit leader or in a leaderless warband, the first model. Around that model you then can place other models in the unit within your unit coherency.
I did not personally write up unit stats on the back of the cards because I used an Excel set of files I printed out. If I were going to have it printed. I would want to put it into a program like I have for my Call of Cthulhu stuff. It is something called like Realm works or something like that. On it I can create/print off cards for games like Arkham Horror or Talisman. I'll post the program if someone really wants me to. Basically you can create cards for games. On that, I'd create a set of cards with each unit so it prints it out all nice and neat. Yet, I found I just easily looked it up on the files which were in plastic sleeves.
If you do make these cards and since the default is Chronopia 2 you could do a set of cards without stats on the back and a set with it, but that is a lot of work. The center point is really all that is essential for placement of that first model. I do like the newer smaller card size. In fact you can have it as small as a little square, but I think I like how you made it a rectangle and sized it.
Thank you for making them.
-
Look at the top of the "front" of the card you will see a little black arrowhead That is where the leader of that card will be placed. I have already knocked out the first changes and have Swordsmen and Macemen ready to go. I will print and post them shortly. It is easy to make blank ones. I figure i will make a blank template and save it to PDF and set it up with fields so you can put what you want for custom characters.
-
I like how you did the card with the picture on the back personally. I say keep that but do a picture that matches each type of army so a Swamp Goblin would have a Swamp goblin type figure on the back. I like how you have a picture of a well painted model on the back too. If you can find a well painted model for each army faction that would be great. When you do elves and dwarves and can make up a card for each elven house and one for each clan like that. For SOK they have 3 factions so one for each. Since technically when you play you will pic a faction to play.
In this way you have a first born card, 3 SOK cards, 5 dwarven clan cards, 4 elven house cards.
On the topic of the black arrow. Are you meaning that you place the card, and then when you do so you know when you reveal the card to place the first model in front of the arrow? That would work.
How your doing it then seems great. Please continue.
-
Okay, now that I am home I decided to make some changes to my concept cards. I also made some spell cards. Take a look and let me know what you think.
Redesigned the Front

Added Stats to the inside

Created Spell Cards

-
Great work on these cards.I like the idea of the arrow and then you place the Leader in-front of the card at that point.A good way to do it.
Got to love that Firstborn miniature.Such a cool sculpt.
-
I like the redesign. Good choice on making the font larger, and white and with that shadow effect. Fully approved, I also like the back how you did the stats and calculated the Damage for the weapon, instead of the formula. So if the formula is ST + 4 and the model has 4 strength just list Dam 8.
Also one thing I never liked about Chronpia were things like the weapon modifiers for models like the Warshields which have a -2 CC. I get that, but it would be easier to just put a modified score in there. If they had 13 CC and its -2, then just list 11 since in no case will they ever have any other score as their base score. Put 11, and maybe if truly needed an Asterisk *-2 weapon modifier, base CC 13, yet anyone with the book would know that, and in the end these cards are for convience. I bring that up as you'll face that issue later on with a unit like that.
What thickness of cardstock is that? How did you cut the edges so cleanly. Does your machine have a way to cut them out like that, so you just press and it punches the out in that shape?
-
Well based on your feedback here is a revision of what It could look like.
The Defensive modifier is only for models attacking this model so there is no way to make a permanent calculation. I did add the arc because I think a lot of players forget to deduct the shield bonus from the front.
-
Let me clarify I did not mean the normal Defense bonus. I went back and looked at the book. I was thinking the warshields were still like 1e warshields. Go look at the Dwarven Laybrinth for the Warshields and you'll see what I mean.
Ok, forget that. They have 11 CC and warhammers so basically Thom pre-calculated that modifier into the model.
You listed the Def -2 you don't need to do that, but I see why you put the -1 as they have a Shield and thus models attacking them are -1 RC.
People will not immediately get that -2 is Defense and -1 is -1 RC.
Drop putting the -2 / -1 instead put the -1 under the Special Rules.
Shield: Attackers suffer -1 RC
OR
Put in that DEF -2 and for the -1 put Shield -1 RC so you clarify what that -1 and -2 are for. Putting -2 and -1 in there without clarifying can potential confuse.
OR
How about instead of Defensive put Defense on the top of that circle so its in the same place above the -2, and then under the circle on the opposite bottom part of the circle under the -1 put Shield so when someone looks at a card they are reminded of negative modifiers an attacker suffers. In most cases it will be Defense, (but keep in mind some models have 0 zero) and in some models cases they will list Shield and their modifier. But there is also the Size modifier to range so perhaps for most models you'll have Shield under that modifier, but for some you'll list Size and people will get use to the bottom modifier being the RC modifier unless you spell this out:
RC Modifier: Shield -1
RC Modiifer: Size -2
or something like that. I do like how you spell it out though because those modifiers are often forgotten during play but are important.
How about putting the DEF score above the Armor score, and switch it with the Wound stat so it reads: DEF, STR, WND on the top of that second set of stat boxes. That way the 'defensive stats' are right next to each other, like the CC is above the RC (the attacking stats)
-
I made a mistake it should have looked like this. The Circle represents the models base. The model is a swordsmen and he has a shield. His defensive modifier is a -2 for the shield for CC and RC. The Defensive Modifier is only good to the front 180 degrees the back half of the model does not benefit from the shield. So, the in this example -2 and 0 are correct. A model could have a defensive modifier higher than the shield represents and the back half could still be a negative number. For example the desert crusaders have a -3 to front and -1 to rear.
What I just noticed is the defensive modifier for Macemen is wrong in the book it says they have a -1, it should be a -2
(http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/ScreenShot2015-02-14at73610PM_zps41f7208a.png)
-
I get your -2/0 thing now. It means -2 DEF in the front facing. Ok, but the model does have a Shield so in the special rules (which I assume will also have a fillable textbox).
Shields grant -1, -2 or -3 RC so under Equipment right after the weapon and before the Special Rules section as it is equipment.
-
Cards are looking great!

Well, I have been trying to round out my collection. I think I have leads on the last few figures I am missing and I have proxies for most of the figures that where never released. I just ordered these for my Blade Maiden Champion and Black Sister Champion.
I will add the back ring from a Black Sister leader and I think she will fit well.

I also thinking about using the Daikinee elves from Rackham for the Jade Elves. They are nice looking figures and they have a woods bug theme to them. I have enough elves to put together a 4th elven army but I think these figures fit the look better. What do you guys think Daikinee or standard? I would have to get creative on the Militia and axemen

The Rackham pieces look good to me as do your female finds too.Not sure if the Rackham pieces will be cheap as they too are out of production now.A real shame as the range was wonderfull.
-
go to cadwallon.com
-
Have you purchased from them before? Looks like they have them all and would be easy to do.
-
Man, Rackham had gorgeous minis. Too bad their partnership with FFG killed them.

Here are the model numbers of the two figures. Warning though the Female Barbarian is a limited edition fig and there are only 21 left.
Female Barbarian with Sword Item number: CMN0061 $12.99
Brahyn, Female Warrior Item number: FBSOL005 $14.99
-
Who did that first female barbarian? What game/line is she from?
By the way, if someone finds Celtos miniatures, they work very well for purposes like this. I have a Celtos female and use her for my blade maiden champion.
I REALLY like the one with the raised sword pictured above. That is one I'd choose if I were going to get a blade maiden today.

http://ttfix.blogspot.com/2014/08/mierce-miniatures-previews-and-new.html
I found something called Mierce Miniatures?
Anyone know what that is? anyone own some, are they of the right size for Chronopia?
Look up Mierce Miniatures to see the full line.
-
Is that Female Barbarian with Sword Item number: CMN0061 $12.99 miniature made of metal or resin?
Thanks.
-
As soon as they show up I will let you know. I assumed they where metal but I don't know that.
-
The pieces from the range which i have had were metal.Got a few of the out of production pieces.

Okay the Females arrived today and they are metal and they look fantastic!

Okay, I have sent out a few sets of my Firstborn cards. The feedback I have gotten is quite positive. Here is a key of some of the information that is on the cards.

I have gotten awesome help from my friends world wide on completing my factions. My long term goal is to paint and do game reports with the armies for personal and forum entertainment. Several members of the forum and a great gamer out of California have stepped up and taken their time to help me reach my goal. If anyone has even one or two extra of the figures below it would go a long way. To all of you who have helped me thank you, to anyone who can help me I don't mind paying for the figures and I can even trade. If they are stuffed in a box and you would like to see them get painted and used shoot me a PM. I am traveling this week hope to have some new pictures up this weekend for your enjoyment. See you soon. John

Great new additions and i like the standard too.Did you sculpt it or is it from some where else?Looking forward to seeing your Wolf Totem too ;).
-
I got it from privateer press, it is a standard for one of their units. I always do a little bit of work but I am more of a kit basher than sculptor. I thought it turned out well. I am really looking forward to working on the Wolf Totem when it gets here from Scotia. Should be any time now.
I am planning some very cool stuff for your barbarians - Firstborn burning blades. I just got the leader and I am really jacked to get them put together.
-
go to cadwallon.com
Well per Joshua recommendation I went to Cadwallon.com and ordered the Diakinee elves. 9 days later everything showed up. I have my Jade Elves! Should be interesting! More to come soon.
-
Glad you got them!! I'm digging through my piles of shame looking for some Privateer back banners (love their parts in the online store) and metal bases.
-
Just been looking at my rule book this morning.Might start to dig out my Sons of Kronos figures and see about doing a little force.
It looks like the standard you have used is from the Wolves of Orbaros guys set.Looks a great match for the Wolf standard.
-
Here is the Wolf Totem, Per Andy's instructions I got the figure from Scotia and Got to work on Friday. Overall I am very happy with the way it came out. The white legs look a little weird in the photo but they look much better in person (no photo skills I guess). I got one more and I already have a new idea of a pose I would like to try. More to come...

There is only 4 more Wolves to be painted and then work begins on the next group. It is a close race on the next army to be painted. I will close the poll this Sunday and next week the next army will begin. Who will it be?
Side note: I am down to a very few figure to finish my collection I still need. Can someone help a brother out?

The Hasslefree miniature works really well with the group.Great looking collection.Only missing the Totem from the pictures ;).
Did you buy the terrain pieces John or make them yourself?
-
After seeing you use the Hasslefree miniature it reminded me of another miniature by Kev White from the Celtos range that would fit in well with the force.Link below to the figure in mind.

Okay, I have a three way tie between Dragon Clan, Firstborn and Shadow Tribe. So I am going to remove my vote for Dragon Clan and that leaves us with a Two way tie and I will recast my vote as the tie breaker and the winner is Shadow Tribe.
So here is what we are going for. This army was a seven day army painted by eiko2 and posted on Cool Mini or Not. I have to say very cool army. I have tasked David with coming up with our version of this paint job, lets see how he does.
As to your question Manic, those are purchased hills. Dave does his own photo shooting with his fancy equipment and he uses these hills for finished work. I on the other hand have no problem being barbaric with my iPhone. I do have quite a bit of hand made terrain but I think I really like the stuff GW has done lately (yes I know GW is a dirty word).
-
I had not seen these before.Very nice units.Like the addition of the Celtos miniatures. They fit in really well with the theme.
-
I thought the look was very creative, The person who painted it was not worried about the composition because it should not have Viridian Lords but whatever floats your boat. I think it will be a home run and mine has a couple of nice surprises.
Figure update, I continue to bust down the list of what i am missing and here is all I have left. I am really not sure what I am going to do when I find the last of the figures. I am also going to be shocked because I really did not think I would be able to track down the entire line but somehow it has come together.
Swamp Goblin Heavy Spear Musician
Desert Warriors ( 8 ), Yes I have these but they are a little light.
-
Funny, I bought these minis a few years back on eBay. Reminds me I need to paint some more to fill in the gaps. I really liked the scheme so will be fun to see what you guys come up with!
-
Time to share some more pictures...
I just received these from a player in Poland named Rafal. I have to say they are VERY cool and now some of my favorite figures. I will retake the pictures when I get a second they do not do these figures justice. These are a welcome addition to the Swamp Goblins!

COOOOLLL :o
The Swamp Fiend is exactly like the concept on the book! Great work!
-
Great additions to your collection.Like the various pieces.I thought the Ice Para-elemental from the D&D Chainmail range would work well for the Elf piece. Also Reaper do a very nice Swamp creature too.

Here are a few new pictures for you. I know I said Shadow Tribe next but I have a few other projects I have to finish first and I have been doing a fair amount of travel for work. David did these and I have to say he is an decent* painter (*FANTASTIC). He is very gifted with a brush.
Orc Archers

Really cool ;)
-
Wow! Wonderful skin tone and colour scheme.
-
Solid!
-
The demons at the gate are unstoppable!!!
I wanted a cross between "immortals and a Samurai" and this is what the result was. The faces are painted gold like a gilded mask to bring the terror to a new level - Let the slaughter begin!
Orc Assault Warriors
(http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/042815%20chronopia%20orc%20assault%20troops%20size_zpshxkq0ikh.jpg)
-
VERY cool.
I really like the colour scheme, they seem what they are: tough.
I find a little strange the choice of using non metal colours on the weapon's blades even if you used the gold for the faces and details on the armor. It looks like a strange material weapon (such as crystal).
Anyway... every time I see your minis (or the ones of the others) so superbly painted, i feel depressed. Mine are still waiting to be primed... :'(
-
Striking!
-
The gold is also NMM, it is browns and yellows. there is no metallic paint on these models. I don't like the look of metallic paints. I think it turned out quite convincing.
-
:o original combination
-
Orc Warriors, you may have noticed the pail blue and similar armor on each unit this is to help tie the army together.

-
It's a very strange colour scheme. Almost delicate for orc warriors. I like it.
-
Really like these Orcs and the colours you have went for.Should make for a very colourfull looking force.
-
Here is the other half of the assault warriors. I have a sneaking feeling my obsidian Elves and my assault warrior will have the same tailor/Armorer.
(http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/052915%20chronopia%20orcs%203%20size_zpsmxt69des.jpg) (http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/052915%20chronopia%20orcs%201%20size_zpsokmx8grj.jpg)
-
Lol! They look great in that scheme.
-
The Blackbloods are going to be a stunning looking force John.Really need to dig mine out and get some paint on them too.Always loved the take on Orc's and Goblins in Chronopia.
-
Really like the colors on them.
-
The orc Alchemist...

more beauties. I'm going to take some pics of the models I'm painting even if they aren't as pretty as these.
-
That is a great collection of Blackbloods John.Got a nice size force to fight your Dwarves now ;).
Looking forward to seeing the mounted one's.
-
They look incredible! Well done!
-
I hope to soon see a Troll. ;D
-
Here is the first of the Trolls....THE DEATH SEEKER! :o Would love to say I did this but once again David knocks it out of the park. The Veil is painted black with the lower jaw bone on it. What do you think? Terrifying?
(http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/071815%20chronopia%20troll%201%20size_zpsy7vt89fg.jpg) (http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/071815%20chronopia%20troll%203%20size_zps1gmxfqmw.jpg)
-
Very nice indeed.Love the trousers.
-
TROLL #2, this is the standard troll with the two scythes and net. Even though the two models are the same with a few item swaps and a little conversion work they have a very different feel. Ghamak does give you extra parts and two heads for this model. The sword is from the Ghamak Ogres, I converted one of them to a Deathseeker and did not need it. i have chatted with several people and the emotion about this model is mixed. I think they are OUTSTANDING.
(http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/072515%20chronopia%20troll%201%20size_zpscjsivsym.jpg) (http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/072515%20chronopia%20troll%202%20size_zpsbnvvdxdj.jpg) (http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/072515%20chronopia%20troll%203%20size_zps6m5teng9.jpg)
-
He looks really good.Like the net.Is it fruit packaging like you get on packs of oranges?
-
I tried quite a few materials and settled on some metal mesh I had in the garage. I worked with it until I was happy. My original design had skulls at the bottom but his proved to be a lot of work so I decided not to do it.
-
The metal mesh is a good idea.It will also hold shape better too.
-
Double Mounted Kutara
(http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/073015%20chronopia%20dual%20orc%20mount%201%20size_zpswemcdghq.jpg)(http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/073015%20chronopia%20dual%20orc%20mount%206%20size_zpskvry8m4e.jpg)
-
:o This is the most beautiful of all.
-
:o :o :o :o :o :o My brain explode John :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o I love the Double Mounted Kutara and Trolls.
-
Kutara Knight

-
Superb offerings.
-
Nice to see both of these pieces painted up so well. You have a great looking force to fight the Dwarves.
-
Hey Manic... I am kind of sensing you would like to see a Orc vs. Dwarves fight. Am I picking up on this vibe correctly?
Let me see what I can do.
-
Okay, I never did show my final deployment and play cards. Here is the last run of my test cards. The only change i want to make is to the Weapon damage on the Dwarf cards. I forgot to add the strength to the weapon damage.

-
The cards look great.I really like the well used look you have gone for on them.It makes them look aged.
A battle picture would be great to see. Also a game report too ;).
-
Fantastic :o, much better than the original ;)
-
They are awesome and turned out great.
-
Next up some of Francesco's Elite Ogres. I have talked to some people who do not like the size or look of these but I really like the scale they give the game. These ogres will make the orcs think twice about revolting against the Emperor.
-
It's a question of taste. Of course, painted so well they are cool.
Anyway, the kutara knight is MARVELOUS.
-
Here is the other half of the Ogre Elite. Also making his apperarace is the the Ogre DEATH SEEKER. I got two Ogres pointing and made one the leader and converted the other with arm scythes in trade for his sword which I used on the Troll and finished him up with a banner from Hordes. Enjoy, more to come soon!
(http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/080915%20chronopia%20ogres%20size_zpsgcwwxmw9.jpg) (http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/080915%20chronopia%20ogre%20banner%20size_zpsheqgbhsc.jpg)
-
How about another addition, Here is the Ogre Myrmidon. I did a little updating and changed his head blades and tusk. I think he looks pretty sweet. This was a pretty tough model to track down but now I have a couple so plan on seeing some variants in the future.
-
Awesome work as usual.
-
Last of the Ogres! The Sword master may look different and it is. I have a couple of the correct models but for some reason I did not like his look. He looks to flat and not dynamic enough so I did a little work and made some changes.
(http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/081215%20chronopia%20ogres%201%20size_zpsmtnq2lfb.jpg) (http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/081215%20chronopia%20ogres%203%20size_zpsbypz5pzo.jpg)(http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/080815%20chronopia%20ogres%201%20size_zpsnexhrobo.jpg)
-
Next up I will post a group shot of all the Ogres and Trolls together. No orc army is complete with out the goblins so they will be marching in shortly. I did make some goblin conversions that I hope they will please even the most particular blackblood player.
i do have a quick question, are people enjoying this thread and should I continue to post my progress with my collection? I would enjoy hearing any feedback or suggestions for future projects and to get some idea of how many people are looking at this. I know at least 5-7 of you very well but I would enjoy hearing from any fans of the game that still exist.
Lastly are there any people still playing that have any game ideas they would like to see come together. I am mostly finished with my cards and I have some quick reference guides I have made both of which increase game play speed. I am also going to create some scenario cards that add a fair amount of randomness to the game. If anyone has any ideas they would like to see drop me a line. As I hope you can tell I am pretty committed to the Chronopia world and I am willing to make any sort of fan supported material including expansion documentation or new rules. So if you ever wanted to dust off the Chronopia figures and have an excuse to play now might be a good time.
P.S. Feel free to post some of your stuff here as well I would love to see it!
-
Ogres look great John.Love the Myrmadon.
Love seeing your collection come to life with paint on.I also love seeing the army pictures.
I still want to make some buildings to fit in with the Chronopia setting.Might have to do something about that.
There does seem to still be an interest in Chronopia. The figures in my range still sell so that is a good sign.
-
I am getting ready to order some Eastern desert buildings from Cobblestone Miniatures. They have quite a few models and and it would make for a interesting desert fight.
-
Keep it rolling JB! Love to see the paint jobs and mini collection
-
Cobblestone do some really interesting pieces.Just way too much postage to the UK.
-
Keep on rockin' man!
-
I really like to keep track of your work. I would be sorry not to see more. :(
For future projects, I'd love to see how you paint the Elves ;D, but I do not know if it's in your programs. ???
The game is old, and needs a correction to the army list.
Missing new units, I'd like to develop the dwarves of the Jackal.
-
All the Ogres and Trolls! Oh My!

-
Very impressive pictures.I had not realised that the Ogre Elite were so big.
-
Half-troll Elite Guard?
-
Keep 'em coming. I truly enjoy watching your collection grow.
-
I plan on posting all the armies painted. Before the end of the 2015 my goal is to finish the Orcs then do Swamp Goblins, Sons of Kronos Shadow Tribe, Dragon Clan. Will be posting pictures of all four Elven clans and they will see some paint I am guessing next year. I plan on doing Obsidian Guard, Crystal Lotus, Jade Lotus (Rackem Miniatures) and final House of Helios in that order but I also will be working in Stygian and Horned one Dwarves. My personal goal is to have all of them painted by end of 2016 but I am guess this is a stretch.
-
These are turning out awesome. Love the terrain also.

If you are wondering where I came up with some of the colors you need to go back and look at he orcs.
Archers = Archers
Spearmen = Swordsmen
Swordmasters = Caravan Guard
Crimson Guard = themselves (Ninjas)
I wanted this to create a unified look to the entire army.
-
Great new additions to the force. How many Goblin Spearmen do you have?
-
They look great!
-
Ripper Beast

-
:o They are exceptional. Compliments.
-
Looking awesome as usual - more karma
-
The Ripper beasts look amazing. You must have most units for the Blackbloods now.
-
I have all the goblins now and when they are complete i will do a complete army shot. I just printed a desert gaming mat. I plan on getting some palm trees and middle eastern buildings. should look pretty amazing. The Blackbloods turned out so well I would like to do the stygian next since they will have the same desert theme but I think I am going to do the Swampies or Shadow Tribe next.
-
Here is the other half of my goblin sword masters and the Sword master hero.

I just ordered the Middle East Kopplestone buildings, 60 Palm trees, and printed a 4x6 Vynal desert Map! Next up with be the Shadow Tribe!
-
Are you not adding the Goblin Myrmadon and chariot then?Great looking force. You must have one of the most complete collections around now then.
-
Good catch, I have two painted Chariots and a Goblin Myrmadon painted as well they are not pictured here. I will photo the entire Blackblood hoard in a single picture here shortly. I would like to at least get a couple of palm trees done and maybe one building. As for the collection, yes I have a complete collection now thanks to the help of ALOT of people from around the world - as you know. I have managed to track down every figure from the near impossible and very elusive. I have also tried to locate any alternative figures that fit in the Chronopia world Like yours and Francisco's. I have also managed to find several FANTASTIC one of a kind models that are some of my favorites. It has been a 18 month journey and I found some of the hardest models by fluke and folly most of the time. My goal is to have the entire collection painted and posted by the end of the year 2017. Lets keep our figures crossed life does not throw me a curve ball. By December this year I should have the Shadow Tribe and one more finished and posted.
I am thinking Swamp Goblins or Obsidian Serpent Elves...
-
Okay, I thought I should do an update so you did not think I had given up yet! Here is the latest additions and a preview of what is to come.
Now to give credit where credit is due, the inspiration for this army was the polish posted 7 day shadow tribe posted on Cool Mini or Not. The artist paints an entire army in 7 days and it was very cool. So based on that lead and some art ideas this is what mine are going to look like. David and I put these together as a test run. Now the real work begins. There will be a few surprises with this army to give it the feel and completeness i had to add a few figures from other lines Celtos, Enigma Massive Darkness, and Hersey miniatures.

I would like to have one more army done by the end of the year. Based on shout-outs I will make my decision.
Swamp Goblins (my choice)
Obsidian Elves
Or Stygians
Hey, Joshua - looks like I will be holding the family hostage at the Jersey shore for a week next Labor Day, FFF (Forced Family Fun). If you will have me we may need to squeeze in a game? ;D
-
What sorcery is this? Hell yeah!
-
Hy Boyd.
Great painting on those ones too, even if, personally, I really don't like the choiche of the colour scheme. Putting side to side a clear purple and a bronze is something that does not fit good with my aesthetic sense. Question of tastes, of course ;) I think I would have chose a dark metal instead of the bronze.
I've seen that you too are using that Celtos wird for the shadow tribe! It fits the role perfectly! :D
-
Glad to hear your feedback . It ' was difficult to get the correct color mix . We did not want something too cartoony but we went for something that made them unique on the table even if beserkers from both tribes were pushed together . Twilight is a difficult effect to simulated especally if you do not want to spend an inordinate amount of time on each figure . Overall I am very pleased with the look and feel . I always like to feed back and if you get a bit ' of time I would have liked to see what you think would have looked better , I am always open to ideas .

Shadow Tribe Hunter

-
He is a great figure.I have him too.A bit bigger than the others i think.
-
You are correct he is larger than the Chronopia figures. I just figured no good Nordic or barbarian film does not have at least one freakishly large warrior. In addition the guy who has to run the shadow hounds needs to be able to hold his own.
-
I think some of the Drune and Celt miniatures from Confrontation would be nice additions too.
-
You will see some of those posing as jade elves. Wierd right!
-
I use a confrontation drune persecutor as a viridian lord champion, since I use the old ones (first edition) and it fits the role perfectly.

Truly amazing!
But how can you not to love Chronopia !! :D :D :D
Too bad for his dismal fate .... :'(
Compliments! ;)
-
I really like the horned helmet for the Unliving leader. I also love their shade of skin color.
If you do get a chance to find Celtos. I really like the Celtos horse riders. They seem to be a wonderful proxy for the Abor Horseman.
Great job on the Sons of Kronos.
-
Hah!!! You use the Mordred mini from celtos too! I've seen you use him as an unliving leader. I use him as a proxy for a "barbaric version" of the Unholy champion. I placed on his back a standard (to represent the avatar of war), and a cloack. It fits the role perfectly. ;)
-
Well, time to start a new army. Is anyone interested in seeing the Swampies spill in? Well, ready or not here they come! ;D
This will be a complete swamp goblin army with all the trimmings about 90 figures. The only proxies will be some hunting spiders I could only get my hands on two of the real deals but I think it will be okay (if someone has some to spare let me know). I hope to have the first pics up by then end of the week.

Okay I just received my stuff from Kobblestone and I have to say it is very cool. Let me share...

Excuse the question, where did you find cloth desert? All very nice ;)

I have access to a large format Latex printer. So I down loaded some game mat PDF. Here are two sites that I purchased from. They look very nice and allow for a good amount of diversity without breaking the bank.

Primer covered! ;D - I have some more Building pictures coming I have to wrap some presents first.
-
Need a little help, does anyone have a color picture of the Novice Shaman. What is it on his left shoulder? Is it a bone shoulder pad? What color is a Gourd Bomb?
Thanks!
-
Good questions. I'm still trying to figure out the details on that sculpt!
-
Well if you don't know I am going to have to give it my best guess. :o
-
I don't know what is on his left shoulder. He has a gourd bomb and a powder pipe. Use your imagination. Remember they are made from either bug chitin or plants. I personally got books at the library on plants and bugs to be my inspiration. I think all your models are great. Your doing fine. My thought is the gourd bomb might have some lime green or how about some deep orange. Ultimately, make it stand out from the model whatever color you are painting that model and same with the powder pipe.

So good!! Check out the points adjustments that are happening in the other thread, John.
-
I just did!
Okay, here is the year in recap, We got Ocs, Vulture, Bloodbones, Wolves, SOK shadow tribe and 75% of Swamp goblins done this year.
A big shout out for David Stoddard, David painted most of the mini's you enjoyed this year. As I have said before if you have anything you need painted I would reach out to him. He is very trust worthy, easy to work with and does a great job. His Blog is http://kidsolventphotos.blogspot.com (http://kidsolventphotos.blogspot.com). You will see these figures and more, it is tough to get on his schedule but he is worth it.
Last, here is a conversion I have been working on and had hoped to have painted by the end of the year but no luck! It is a about 80% done can you guess what it is?
I think the elves or stygians will be next to make an appearance.
Happy Holidays and I will continue to perform CPR on Chronopia!
-
Keep rockin' JB!!

-
You are getting through the collection.
-
Yeah, I have made good progress but even at this rate it is going to take another 18 months before everything is painted i am afraid. I think I am shooting to have everything but the elves done by the end of this year 2016. The next three will be fast but the Devout are like three different armies Deamons, Humans and Undead.
Armies to still paint
Firstborn
Sons of Kronos
Horned ones
Devout
All Elves
-
Will you be doing all of the Elven factions?
-
Yes, I have four full elven armies one for each faction. I will be using Rackem wood elves for the the Jade house but everything else will be from Chronopia.
I hope to one day have a grand table top battle and everyone should be represented - Just like the shadow tribe I did not have to make a full clan of that either but in the interest of completeness I did.
Did I just cross over that normal to weird line?
Boyd
-
Did I just cross over that normal to weird line?
Boyd
no! you are living the dream for all of us! keep going! I don't post much anymore, and haven't lifted a brush in ages, so I enjoy your updates!
-
I am sure we are all weird on here.Nothing wrong with that as it is the right kind of weird ;).
-
My hope was that everyone enjoyed seeing these figures again. I think they where very under rated even when they where new. They have a unique style to them that allows for very individual interpretation for each army. My hope is to post a fan site sharing all the figures when they are done. I guess this has become my golf and it is way less frustrating.
I also would not mind it it stirs up some play. For the most part the figures are easy to find even now and they are very affordable. I was pricing some War Machine figures and I had to shake my head at how expensive the war gaming hobby has become. I have to say it is a little tough to introduce the hobby to someone new just to hear them say that was fun how much to get involved? Oh, about $800 when do you want to start? I also have to say the fact that I don't have to worry about the game changing kind of adds another level of peace.
JB
-
I think if you like a game you stick with it.Even though it has been out of production for some years now.
There are lots of people playing older versions of Warhammer and an Oldhammer community has grown out of it.
The miniatures range has a different take on the old sterio types for Fantasy races which i really like.
A fan page with all of the miniatures painted up would be a great source and inspiration to collectors and games i am sure.
-
That's true. I should post some of my paintjobs here aND on my blog. Also I'm getting my daughters into playing, they are 10 and 11. The 10 year old likes Stygian. The 11 year old likes elves
-
Everyone together now "DUNE"
Desert Crawler

-
These are rolling off the painting table.
-
Mine don't look this good, but I feel good having enough paint on them to pass inspection.
-
These guys are looking great! I especially like the desert crawler Sand Worm ;D
-
Have a special treat for you. First the bad news this guy does not belong to me...bummer. David showed me this figure in his photo archive and he painted it quite a while ago and sold it on Ebay for a paltry amount. So you if you own this figure your a lucky dog the rest of us just get tot see the picture. The good news is I am going to steal this paint scheme it is bad ass! It is very Sean Connery in Highlander (maybe I should convert him to a Katana).
Swordsman Noble
(http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/072613%20chronopia%20swordmaster%20noble%201_zps90mvgph3.jpg) (http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c219/jr_boyd/072613%20chronopia%20swordmaster%20noble%202_zpsarezogv8.jpg)

That is a great paint job on that miniature.

Back to our regularly scheduled army...
The Stygian Hammerhead

That is incredible.
-
I'm glad I haven't painted my hammerhead yet. Now I can use this as inspiration. Nice job.
-
A few more to go...

So, what is up with the keister on the Tree Devil. It has a backside like Beyonce'.
-
It does seem strange that the Tree Devil has hips and the others dont.
Still very nice additions to the collection.
-
Baby got back.

At this rate you will need more miniatures to paint ;).Nice work on these.
-
the really sick part is even as good as it is going it will still take until December 2017 to get all the armies done. It is a personal goal so keep up the moral support and I will focus on being committed to this project.
-
They look really great. I sent you an email, the minis you sent me arrived today. Hope my tree devil looks as good as yours one day.
-
You know what I like about this, other than the beautiful paint jobs? It really shows how good these "old" minis can look! I know some will complain about weapon sizes and nonsuch, but it's fantasy. It's what you create, right?
-
With the exception of a few miniature like the "drugged" which I have sitting on my desk. About which I spend a good amount of time thinking i have to spend hours of my life that I will never get back painting this "interesting" miniatures. Most of the line was very good to excellent. I think the deception is when you look at some of the figures like the Devout Swordsmen bare metal it is easy to think they are not very good but painted they have a very exciting table presence. As I stated before all the figures really lend themselves to the painters imagination and create great variety. I also like the exaggerated features and size which again make the painting unique and fun. Ultra realistic miniature force your hand more.
-
Okay, finishing the Stygian and I have to say they look quite spectacular. I will post a pic on the desert mat and listen for the OOooooohs and Ahhhhhhs.
Starting on the next army which is Firstborn and I am thinking checker boards are going to be a total pain. I have seen several firstborn that don't have them and look great. Any opinions as to if it is a major faux pas to not use them. I don't want to get lazy but they are a LOT of work.
Also not going to show them until they are done but I mod some burning blades.
JB
-
I actually painted some checkerboard patterns on my blackblood kutaras. It was time intensive but I liked the finished product.

Yes the models are funky looking but the paint job helps them.

I think the helmets do not help them very much.
The painting on these really brings them to life.Love the cloaks.

wow

8) One fine looking army!
-
The Ironguard to me have a very Star Wars Emperors Royal Guard look and feel to them in this red colour.Which is great by the way.
-
Hello,
I'm new to the forum and after a few problems with registration I'm here finally thanks to Jr_Boyd, David and Joshua. About the Iron Guard I've the same opinion of Manic_Miner, I think that this (below) may be a great inspiration for them. But I have a question for Jr_Boyd, at first I thought that you made your units of the max size for 2nd Edition but in that unit there are 10 models and the 2nd editon maximum is 8, what's your guide for the number of models you put in a warband?
-
Well, as much as I would love to say I had a master plan.... The truth is I miscounted the figures I thought it was 8 + 2 but you are correct it is 6 + 2
2 iron guard for sale!

Wow these are all awesome. :o :o :o

-
These look great. makes me want to post some pictures of my minis.
-
Very nice additions to your collection.
-
I wonder why the "winged" version is so different from the illustrations, an older concept may be?
-
I thought the "winged" one was the resculpt and the other was the original ?
Or am I having "old man memory problemsTM" again ?
-
The Winged one is the Resculpt, i call the original the repulsive knight. The figure is not bad but the pose is lacking and his scale seems to be a little off, he does however look like the art work.
-
The original one does look a little squashed and shrunken.Needs stretching a bit to make him look right.
-
Ouch, I always thought "Pic Boy" was first and "Birdman" second. But here in my group we nicknamed the Repulsar Knight as Repulsive Knight too (repulsivo in spanish). Another recurring joke is calling Chronolover to the Chronomancer because in spanish these are spelling Cronoamante and Cronomante.
-
Finished the One King and his retinue...Hope to have him painted next week. Those are not goggles on his head it is the gold band - it just looks weird in the picture. He is much smoother than the picture appears as well, the primer is a little spotty. Like the cross behind his head I scraped with an exacto knife after priming. Keep your fingers crossed.

They look pretty good and will look even better painted up and leading the force.
What was the base model for the King?
-
I think the minis are nice, but shouldn't the retinue be a Black Sisters one according to the fluff? I imagine how the retinue was made, but what parts did you use with the One King?
-
I have a nice unit of black sisters to throw out there, I however wanted to create two personal guards. I need to create some stats.

The musician is really striking.
-
They look like the illustration of the horned one warrior in the first edition of the rules. It'll be a pleasure when all armies will be painted and we could see all miniatures on the whole.
-
A few more, I agree that some of the Chronopia line was odd but painted it truly has a unique flavor even for today. These look great.

Still hold up well!
-
Okay the Horned-ones are coming to a close and I will have the army pictures up shortly.
What army do you want to see next?
Crystal Lotus
Sons of Kronos
Devout
I am leaning to Crystal Lotus but It might be cool to have the Devout done by year end...
Thoughts?
-
I would like to see Crystal Lotus 8)
-
Crystal Lotus.
-
D E V O U T ! ;D
-
I say go for Devout as well, but then I may be a little biased.
-
I have looked over the figures and as we all know their are three parts to the devout. Men, demons and undead. I have to build a couple of figures for each group. Men I have to finish my blood hunters. Demons I want some of the new cauldron born minis to fill the role of dusk realm demons. The undead I have all the troops but I am converting some elven archers. This normally would not be an issue but I will be doing some traveling in the next two weeks.
So I am going to do the crystal lotus, I want to do the obsidian serpents but we need a break from black and red. I do have a question for any of you. I have always hated the spear tips on the elves. Does anyone know of some good replacement ones? I know I can buy gw spears on eBay and cut the tips and I will but I have been surprised I have not seen any prefabricated ones in resin. Any help?
-
I don't know about the GW spears, but couldn't you just look up a historical range. Probably a lot cheaper. Something like tbis.
http://www.northstarfigures.com/prod.php?prod=536
With the cauldron born minis, I have seen their Facebook page but do you know if they have an online shop? Or do you just email them to try to order?

:oWonderful. You've made me want to use Dwarfs :-\.
Missing the Totem! >:(
-
I have two of each Totem, I have been saving them for last. I got lucky hunting for the Horned ones and I found both heads. So the Totems are coming for all the clans.
-
Excellent work. I really like them and I appreciate the choice of keeping the original colour scheme.
I know you already told it somewhere else on the forum, but can you please re-link the site where to buy the proxy champion with the mace? I find it really cool and the size is perfect.
Thank you.
-
Best in the world. Stunning!
-
I honestly don't remember. Manic posted the original figure and I looked around and I can not find it either. I will keep looking because he is a cool figure. He is a good bit larger than most 28mm figures.
-
Just a quick update. I am going to continue to finish the Chronopia figures and keep posting. I have not given up or taken a break. So what have I been up to? Somewhere I decided I needed to be in the miniature business with all my spare time and experience which is non-existent. I am not sure who convinced me it was a good idea and would be fun (Andy) but I figured I would give it a try. I will be starting a new thread today called CtoW. I am not going to reveal too much here but come and see me and see what I have been up too.
