Hy there. Don't you think devout army has got enough troops? Let think about some new unit for someone else... In the profile of Earl, swordmaster noble, it is written he can give order to two units with one action to the swordsmen or to the firstborn militia. But this unit profile never appeared. It'stime to do it... I imagine something like a large numbered warband with light armour and forearms. I already got some excellent proxy, but I need the stats! Please T Prime, do it for us all!!!
-
I meant polearms. Automatic adjustment is sometimes fool...
-
Halberds? How do you picture them? I think you're right about needing them.
-
Good idea! Though in Empire Chronopia the Firstborn militia is armed with axes and swords, halberds or poleaxes would be cool as well. They should probably be simpler than the Repulsarīs - maybe a long, straight central blade with a small, crenellated side blade, either a half-circular axehead or a bardiche-style "saw" mounted parallel to the shaft?
-
Tell me more about the Empire Militia. Are they two handed axes? Do they have shields? Let me know what they're all about!!

The description is rather short. It reads,
SOLDIERS
The common soldiery of Firstborn armies is composed of levies and militia, with a core of professional troops such as city watchmen. They are equipped with a broad range of weapons such as spears, short swords, hammers and axes. Many wear little in the way of armor though the professional guards often wear chainmail. They are good all round troops who fight with passion and conviction.
The picture shows a knight in full Firstborn armour brandishing a straightsword, with an irregular horde of soldiers behind him who appear to be armed with axes and swords.

We included house-rule militia in one scenario, where each warband of levied men (only minimally armoured in tunic and chestplate, and armed with hand axes) was led by an Iron Guardsman armed with a straightsword and shield. I imagined them to be citizens, craftsmen and peasants taking up arms in case their city was threatened.
I felt that this would be a rather effective use of those untrained troops, placing groups of them under the command of an experienced veteran, who would also be responsible for their training during peacetime. Since the Iron Guard patrols the cities of the Firstborn, home defense would naturally fall under their jurisdiction as well.

Buzzu, would you mind showing us the proxies for inspiration?
-
I have never been able to post a picture on this forum. Anyway, they are absolutely nothing specal. I was going to use the plastic models of followers of the game "Advanced Heroquest". They have got a very static pose, but size is quite good and they got a leather armor, an helmet, ashield and a polearm or a sword. Since I have a bunch of them, it could bea a nice idea to use them to represent the unit.
-
Ah! I know the miniatures. Not a bad choice! If you cut off the plume and maybe scrape off the shield design, they indeed look quite Firstborn.

Guys, what about this one?

Or this one, but here you need some conversions

No, guys. I dare to say they are both wrong. King of war minis from mantic games are very nice and cheaper than many others, but the size is too small for Chronopia units. I know it for sure. Owl, the minis I told are not the ones in your picture. The ones you showed are from an Heroquest expantion called "the wizards of Morcar" and they are extremely rare nowaday. The ones I have are from advanced Heroquest, which is another game. They are a little bigger, no feathers, and they just stand in a static, classic position.

I like it, did you look at flipping the blade so the hook is facing down and maybe making is a little more of the circle on the axe head. Looks good the way you have it.
-
Draw it to show me how you like.

Reading one written by Horned Owl, I thought that the ''City Militia'' would be something like this.

-
The cost is too cheap for those stats.
-
what do you propose ?
-
Still not home but thought I chime in. At first glance I thought it was low as well. But it is very close to a Elven Militia, however the defensive modifier looks high for this cost.
-
The militia with a polearm doesn't have a polearm??
Or is their having a Straightsword a typo, I think it must be as it has ST+5 when the other Straightswords are ST+3.
-
:o Typing error. sorry
City Militia Polearm are each armed with a Polearm Dam :ST + 5
