I just played my first game with some black primed Four A Dwarfs. I completely pooped the bed, and lost terribly. Now I have to paint them even faster and get them out there to redeem themselves. >:(
I faced Dalton's Blackblood OEF army. Orc Expeditionary Force. Two big squads of Orc Swordsmen, and a squad of Orc Assault Warriors. Backing them up were TWO Alchemists and a Troll Deathseeker.
I forgot the cardinal rule of Chronopia. Always attack. I manoevered behind terrain expecting the rain of missiles on my Dwarves when I should have just gone forward. ::)
My overconfidence from Talamania has been shattered.
Hopefully I can finish painting the Axemen from Andy and show off some cool Tunnel Fighter proxies I've painted. 'Looks like my dang project log will get some photos this weekend.
I hope everyone is having a great summer.
Cheers.

Aw. I feel with you. Somehow the temptation to hang back and not engage in strength is always there with Dwarves – note my timid approach to Jackal-hunting! And then, of course, there´s the old gamer´s adage about painted models performing better. What was your army setup? I recall Four A having Wolven Axe and a Vulture marksman?

Two squads of Axemen, Leader plus seven. I emailed Andy and special ordered the squads to get two fewer leaders. He's good people like that. It's true, painted performs better on the table. I also had a squad of four Desert Wolf Warriors, but I really wasted them on some long odds. ::)
The Marksmen would have been better than a Scavenger and a Keeper. I needed some missiles last night!! Updates to come.
I've got to snap some pics today of some progress too.
Cheers.

A painted force & a victorious battle reported with pics will be forthcoming.

Yip! I´m looking forward to both.

There will be some photos tomorrow. The O.E.F. remains unbeaten!! Three Alchemists is tough. :-[ :P
