Title: Mutant Chronicles RPG 2nd ed Question
Post by: Steel Rabbit on March 02, 2010, 06:02:09 PM
Hey! I don't know if I should put this here or not, as there's not an RPG board but I have a question regarding character creation in the 2nd edition of the Mutant Chronicles RPG.

When it comes to determining your characteristics, the rulebook tells me to roll a number of dice equal to the dice pool according to my archetype. However it doesn't say which dice I should roll. I know the game uses d4s, d6s, d10s, and d20s, but which one of those dice do I use to generate characteristics?

Thanks alot!

Mutant Chronicles 2nd edition is pretty much a d20 game, though it was written before D+D 3.0 and the ogl era.. I believe that you need to use d20's for most things in the Mutant Chronicles rpg.  Though I do need break out the books and double check what exactly it used again.

I believe it's D6's for stats, but will have to dig out my books to confirm for you.

I couldn't find it in 2nd Ed., but in 1st Ed. it's roll 3d6 eight times, discarding the two lowest rolls and put them where you want them.

I know that doesn't really help with 2nd Ed....sorry.

That's cool, thanks alot. I suspected that it was d6s, as in the example character that they came up with, he doesn't have stats that look like they were done with d20s.

I am pretty sure I remember rolling d6's with the gang.
