Title: Looking to buy Bauhaus specialists and battlesuits (And some others)
Post by: Alchas on May 23, 2009, 09:59:12 AM
Hey. I may as well try this too. =)

My Bauhaus army is getting fairly well rounded, but I'm missing specialists for some of my regiments, and I'd like some more battlesuits as well. So I thought I'd see if anyone here was intrested in selling some Bauhaus models to me.

I'm looking for the following models:
Dragoons!
Any Hussar specialists except HMG's.
Any Dragoon specialists
Vulkan Battlesuits, and Vulkan kaptains (Or Viktor battlesuits.)
GT Offroad

I don't have much to trade except for money, but money is nice right? I also have a very small number of Sons of Rasputin models on the off chance that anyone is intrested in them. 4x Northern Sons, 4x Shock Soldats + Sergeant, Soldat Vicar, Soldat Schwerwaffe, and Soldat Flammen. All are opened, most unpainted, but some are (very) poorly painted. Did them many years ago. ;) I also had the flyer but I seem to be missing half the wing for it.

Thanks!
/ Alchas

There was a recent posting on Bartertown for some Vulcans and Viktors.   Not sure if they are still available, but check there to see if they have what you need.

Good luck filling out the collection!

Thanks for the mention, but unfortunately he posted that the Bauhaus weren't available anymore. =/

Anyway, if I get a hold of a first edition Valerie Duval somehow, you can have my second edition model. She's one of the rare cases where I like the first edition model more.

Hey alchas, if you canīt lay your hand on the Specialists you want, try to convert existing models into them.
Tried that for the Ducal RL Spec and worked out to my satisfaction.
Did now two Dragoon Snipers and I think theyīll do.
It isnīt that hard to do and gets easier the more you do. I was astonished myself.
Hardest part is to come by the bits you need for that. Iīm not good at sculpting so I tried to use the bits I had or found and did it with them.
I even used some Arm-bits and weapons of the not to be named game ;-) since I had no plastics to cut...

out of a Dragoon Sgt and will get a ghuile suit:

out of a Dragoon Kpt and will get an additional camo-cloak

It's a good idea. I've already planned to modify two Dragoon Kaptains into Snipers.

Problem with other weapons is like you said, the bits. I don't have any spare RL or GL weapons, so I'm not quite sure how to do it. Could buy weapons from other miniature games I suppose. Any other suggestions how to make rocket or grenade launchers?

Iīm thinking on doing a Hussar Flamer and a Ducal GL Spec next.
But the Ideas do lack a bit.
Perhaps Topkick or dmcgee 1 have another Ducal GL.
If I remember it right he has roughly a magazine with a long thick barrel as a GL.
Have to search for a pic of them and then I think I will sculpt it from Scraps I have... as glue a pipe to a modified barrel or so.
If Iīm through Iīll happily give you a walkthrough with pics ;-)
Maybe I have one for the snipers done (I kept record of a bit of my work I think).
The bits for the Snipers were an GW Lasergun for the muzzles of the Rifles and one shoulderpad , the extension of the barrel was a paperclip as is the bipod of the second Rifle.
The Magazine was cut of an old AC 19 Volcano i had left. The rest is putty and the remnants of the rifle they had. Cut the rest off and finished with a file.

I made an Hussar Flamer but it sure needs some work. Basically it was just a random thought I had since I noticed I had a spare Hussar Kaptain but no arms for him, and an extra Blitzer Kaptain with a loose FT. So I put the FT on the Hussar, and it looks alright from one side, but his other arm needs some work. (To say the least  :o)

Also yeah, the Ducal GL looks a bit like that. The launcher has a relatively thick barrel with a smaller one underneath. (I own one such specialist already, but I'd like a couple more.) I guess I'll look into what weapons I can find off other games at some point. :)

Hussar flamer is simple - take a Hussar trooper and and a GW flamer. Cut the head off the flamer and use a dremel or a pin vise to cut a small slot along the cut edge. Then shape the end of the Panzerknacker to a tab. After that it's simply insert tab A into slot B. Then you can either reove the magazine and use the flamer fuel bottle from the flamer or run some tube back to some flamer tanks. A good place to get tanks is to get Veez's rocket packs and cut off the nozzles. A good source of the fuel hose is industrial ear plugs. Most have a small platic string between them.

You can either simply use a GW GL or take a Hussar that has his rifle point up a bit. Carefully remove the barrel and upper receiver as best you can. Then take either a brass tube or the guts of an ink pen and cut to length. Use some green stuff to shape the remainder of the rifle to support the barrel of the GL

Could you (or anyone else provide a pic of him?)

Alright, I made a pretty large purchase and got most of my needs covered. Right now I'm mostly looking for 2nd edition dragoons, as well as maybe a sergeant and kaptain or two.  I'd still like a couple of vulkans and victors though, if anyone has some to sell.

My personal GL is GW missiles from the missile launcher. I glued the 3 that are one piece to the front leg of the model and then glue the single rocket to the barrel of the gun and viola instant rifle propelled grenade
