I am inviting anyone who is able to arrive any time after noon on Friday, April 24, 2009. I will be available on Friday to pick up anyone from the airport or from the train station. Further, to ensure that all are able to get in as much gaming as they wish, I will be taking Monday as a day off from work, too. That way, anyone who needs transport to their travel connections will have it available on Monday, too. I have a Saturn Vue (small Sport Utility Vehicle), so there is room for a decent amount of stuff.
If any information is needed, please, ask me. I am familiar with all the public transportation in the area, and I do not want anyone to have to spend money on taxis or additional trains once they arrive in Philadelphia.
There are plenty of establishments that will deliver food up until midnight or 1:00 a.m., and I will try to have enough snack-type food and sodas and such, including diet and caffeine-free stuff. For those that have never had a true Philadelphia cheesesteak, you are in for a treat, as I live within a mile of one of the best damned places to get one. Further, the oft-mentioned "Death Fries" are but a phone call away! (I am going to put my culinary skills to the test to attempt to copy the recipe, thereby saving us all a lot of money ;))
As stated earlier, if there is anything else you need to know, or want to ask, please, ask.
-
Pinned accordingly.

Bump
-
So who's planning on making the event?? Sound off please.

-
Cheesesteak WITH Deatfries = -13 days of life but oh so good!
-
Barring none of life's little surprises I'll be there Saturday and Sunday.
-
Damn it - Talamania and Tahoe.....everyone is going to be having a better time than me. :'( :'( :'(
-
Hal we both know it goes the other way too. It can't rain all the time, and you will have some good times coming your way.
-
I plan to be at this Talamania also. Sat and Sun.
I'm looking foreward to great company, great food, and plenty of great games. ;D
-
I'll see you there, and I just emailed masherking. With any luck, those North Jersey boys will make it down here.
Cheers.
-
Word on the street is that Coil will be here!!
-
Coil will indeed be there. I have just bought tickets.

Cool... perhaps we can get a game in this time. :)
-
You are on my list Archer. Going to try to get as many games in as humanly possible.
I think I owe Slater a chance to regain his honour after the beating I gave him last time. :)

Far be it for me to interfere with that. Must remember to bring popcorn though... should be a great battle.
-
:-\ I hope I'm ready. I got another beatdown last night. I played my first game of Chronopia in months of just Warzone, and my Firstborn weren't armed with AC-19 Volcano assault rifles. Sadly, I moved them against the Blackbloods like they were armed that way!!
Ouch!!
Going back and forth between the two games may be more than Slater's tiny brain can absorb. I'll have to study up again, and hopefully win.
I'm really looking forward to Talamania III. Eighteen days away!! Woo hoo!!
-
Only 9 days left now. I am really looking forward to Talamania.
-
It will be great to see everyone and game. It will also be nice for Thom to start showing off what's new.
-
Hmmm....
5 days. (well, 4 and a wakeup)
So who am I playing first?
-
I thought you had drill that weekend-dates change?

You should also consider bringing Spinespur. That was a fun game.
Bring some luck for the poker tourney also.

I'm doing good and no sadly I havent gotten much Spinespur in after we had Spinespur day at the store.
Since my gaming group tends to go in cycles we are currently playing Legend of five rings ccg. I havent been in minature mood the past few months but thats changing as I blew the dust of my aeronef and land ironcland mnis for some VSF action.
-
The new releases for Spinespur have renewed my interest. The Shacklers and Composits are due out soon.
Never got into card games.I have been tracking down the Clan War miniatures though.
Hope you all have a great time.

I'm bringing my CL (about 1500 pts) so maybe you should bring the FB for more variety. On the other hand with both our armies we can have one giant battle.

Hi Guys,
Sorry to have been away, tax season was much more grueling than last year. Suffice it to say I lived and have some great things to share at the event. I have not been idle in my absence.
First of all, we had a board refurbishing party (at least I had fun) last weekend and have repaired and cleaned up the Jungle, City and Dungeon Boards. Dave, Josh and I worked hard to spruce them up. Additionally the Winter Board, which needed serious work, has been finished (it needed an update for the big CL battle coming this weekend). In addition to the old standard tables, we have other configurable boards and the Master Maze Monster Dungeon for use. Should be a great day to push tin!!
Next, the first batch of new models from the new company will be available for sale at Talamania III this year. We are even offering them at special rates for the attendees as a way to say thank you for years of support and encouragement. Don’t worry if you can’t make it, there are plenty of specials we will have online too. It is great to be back into production again and I hope you will enjoy the models. They will be placed up on the new website for view and purchase next week. An announcement will be placed in this section when the website goes live. From then on I will be back regularly.
The long awaited updates and new model stats for both UWZ and Chrono will also start appearing next week on a different site dedicated only to the games and their promotion. See this section for updates as well.
Lastly, we will be discussing a little bit of “Project Prime”, something I think everyone will really enjoy.
I look forward to seeing you all this weekend! Perhaps Coil and I can actually get in a game ( you were my first Crusader after all).
Excelsior,
Thom
-
We definitely need to play at least one game Prime. It'll be fun to see what new minis you have for us.

*"has anyone seen Josh"
" No, but if you look up you see the shadow Thom rocking back forth in his Apartment."

name your pain sir.
There seems to be a number of games you could lose in ;D
-
;D
Fair enough.
-
I'm glad you'll be at this one. Thom was making the most disparaging remarks about the North Jersey crew.....
-
In fairness they were directed at Masher King, not the whole Jersey crew. :)

so thats were the whole "walking on my grave feeling" came from

You two will just have to settle this with some gaming......to the death!!

Usually a simultaneous one at that!

UPDATE:
The president of Veezcon Industries just stopped by to drop off a few presents and a veritable buttload of terrain - really nice stuff, too. He also dropped off "product."
Seriously, though, it was great to meet Ian, in person. Though he cannot make the event, he wanted me to wish you all a good time and good games.

Rocking....
I think I will try and come down Friday evening to see folks. I will definitely be there most of Saturday for some serious dice-slinging.
-
*Sigh* once again we miss each other like ships in the night!
It was awesome meeting the honorable Mr. McGee! The wet kiss I got made it even better!
What? His dog was very friendly and jumped up and planted one on my lips! What's wrong with you people!
-
Homer's gotten all of us that way.
Just finishing some last minute painting, and then packing, as the honorable McGee will be over at 7:30 to pick up the gear. Later I've got to bring bases and lil' plastic baggies out to Thom's for some more last minute packing.
Can't wait to show off the goods.
-
Les and I will be there tomorrow night for a few hours then back Saturday with Caleb.
-
Good. Bring Chronopia so Les and I can square off again. Tell Caleb I'll be there too.

Duly noted Masher, playing on the same side was a first (and a damn sexy thing.)
The event was really enjoyable, gratifying and by far the largest turn out to date. A run down of attendees included:
Dave M
Josh S
William M
Steve G
Steve
Craig M
Dillon M
Andreas E
Jeff D
John T.
Leslie
Mark A.
Felicia A.
Marc
Lance K.
Hans S.
Kevin L.
William R.
Sean
in spirit:
Topkick, VBeez, LuckyOne, Cold Thunder
It was a great event!!
Let me offer a special thanks to Josh for getting the ball rolling three years ago, Dave and Maryanne for hosting it so well and coordinating so many aspects of the day and making everyone feel so welcome (it was absolutely enjoyable and I am so honored to call you friends), to Veez and Tim who provided great terrain in absentia (there will be one next year), to my first Crusader Andreas for traveling the farthest (I will give you a better game next time, with my own die- that story later), to Craig for traveling the second farthest and for bringing an awesome new player with him (welcome Dillon- remember the first fix is free), to the Steves (collectively) who make me guffaw like a little school girl till my sides hurt (Maplewood here I come), to John and Leslie (and Caleb) for bringing their A games (and brushes) and for their sound wisdom and advice, to Mark and Felicia (who is was so nice to see after so many years), to Jeff (who provided me with an absolutely exciting game of UWZ that nearly wiped out the scars of a much older battle that made me swear never to play him again), to my friend William for running his chariot game for the attendees and showing us how to play WoW minis (face it, anything that puts the Steves, Dave and I on the same side is AWESOME) (next time you must bring the wife), to Lance bringing his Imperial Juggernaut (I hope we have pics), to Kevin, Sean, William (I owe you a match on the 16th) and Hans it was great to see and fun to catch up with.
-
Thom, you forgot the stray cat that wandered in, wanting cheesy poofs and a quick game!
-
So I did. Tell him I am sorry and beg him not to destroy my tables out of spite. ;)
-

That's what in-laws are for chum. That occassional break when you need adult company. :) We did miss you.
