Title: Any European retailers out there?
Post by: Mojarn Piett on September 22, 2005, 12:27:43 AM
All I have found seem only to sell the rulebooks and not the minis.  :(

Oh, and they should have a webshop as travelling to a B&M shop in some other country can be a teeny bit expensive.  ;D

well,  there's a Polish retailer with an excellent knowledge of English and all the minis for WZ and Chrono you'd want.
wargamer.pl is the site and it has a How_to_buy_guide in English. i think that will satisfy your demands.
glad to be of any help.

What country are you in?

Finland. There are not too many specialised game shops around here. Lucky for me, one happens to be near where I live. Not so lucky they "burnt their hands" with the Target fiasco and are now unwilling to take any Warzone or Chronopia minis (I've asked).  :( They still have a couple of blisters of blackbloods in the bargain bin.

I know people think I exaggerate about the Target headache, but yet again it comes up. This is freakin Warzone and Chronopia, it should not be a hard sell. I feel your pain. On many order we can ship to Finland for only 9.00 and it should get there in 3-4 days. We also have retailers in Great Britain and Germany that could help, not to mention a great distributor/partner in Poland. Let me know if we can direct you somewhere...

Maybe instead of Ultimate Warzone you should have called it Warzone version NT (Not Target) I'm not going to say any more - I promised Thom to behave and if I get started on this subject I'm gonna get in trouble.

Spirit Games in UK has some of the older material: http://www.spiritgames.co.uk
Also, a shop in Germany: http://www.battlefield-berlin.de/

They (Battlefield-Berlin) stock WZ and Chronopia quite nicely and the service has been excellent (I'm from Finland too), prices and shipping reasonable and the srvice fast.

One of the most important issues to us Europeans is the fact that when ordering within EU, we don't have to worry about customs - hence I believe many are reluctant to shop in US-based net stores.

Thanks again, everybody.  :)

Behemoth is correct about the customs. It does not snatch the sipments every time but when it does your wallet is going to feel it.  :(

I'll try the battlefield Berlin first to try and get some Firstborn. Meanwhile I'll try to get my Imperial forces painted.

EDIT: Behemoth, I visited their online shop and I couldn't find any Excelsior minis. The Chronopia and Warzone sections only have the rulebooks.  ???

EDIT 2: The polish distributor mentioned by Zan and Coki looks very promising. In addition to Chronopia and Warzone I'd be able to add to my small micro armor collection.  8)

Yup Battlefield Berlin website doesn't show the minis ... they still have 'em stocked.
We've ordered a few times from them asking by email first. Sorry I didn't remember they don't have the items visible in their web-shop.

Our LGS here in Illinois is still hesitant to carry either lines and the owner has ordered straight off your web site. He wasn't playing or in business during the whole target break up, so we can't really blame it on the Target thing. There must be other reasons too.

Not mine, I'm going into a different field of the industry.

 "Z&B Games"

Zach & Billie have had it open a couple of months now.

I work for Wargamer - UWZ distributor in Poland (www.wargamer.pl)

Wargamer order from EE regulary so we have huge inventory of Warzone and Chronopia stuff. We offer fast and cheap shipping to all countries in Europe and we accept Paypal. You may find "how to buy" guide in English on our site. You may contact me directly with all questions: kontakt@wargamer.pl

Yes we also have 1/285 micro armour models and terrain ;)

Thanks for the tip Sosna. It's good to have a source inside the EU. An increasing number of things I've ordered from the US lately have been caught in Customs (nothing from EE yet though *knock on wood* ;)).

I am also finnish and quite familiar with situation that we don't have a single retailer here since "the-notorious- moment" few years back. Same thing almost happened to Sabertooth Games when they decided to end WH40K CCG (which was quite popular here). I think if it wasn't part of GW, we wouldn't have any their products for sale anymore. But let's go on to the retailers:

I have ordered from Tobias -> www.chronopia-deutschland.de couple of times and everything has worked fine. I mail him the order and there it starts.

www.battlefield-berlin.de is also reliable place to order. I think twice I have ordered and have nothing to complain.

Main thing (along with customs) why I prefer ordering inside EU, is that payment can be done by bank transfer without any extra costs and one doesn't have to own credit card.

There's (at least) one more german shop which lists Chronopia & Warzone -> www.morgenwelt.org But I can't really recommend it, because my first order there has yet to come.
