Post painted pics of your Capitol forces here. Use a direct link from photobucket or whatever place you store your pics. If one day we get a new gallery, we can organize all the pictures accordingly.
-
I'll start if off with my own humble attempts

-
@semai- I can't seem to get your pics to come in. Any else have this trouble.

@WZD - sweet models and nice singles ads!
@Moe - I like the color choices and like any model that can "John Wayne" the Gehenna Puker.
-
I think they're going to post ads on UWZ-Harmony to meet the Necromutant of their dreams
-
Those two look really good WarzoneD. I am sure they'll meet someone eventually. ;)
Moe, that's not bad for a first attempt. There is a bit of flesh colour on his shirt though, but it should be easy to fix. You could try some flesh wash on his skin to give it some shadow and make it less pale. Keep working on them. :)
-
Been painting a bit, figured when looking on these images I'm not as good as I first was thinking. :P I can't even look this close as these images goes but all in all I'm at least satisfied with my first painting job in years. :)

Looking good!

So I invested some money in new guys this month, a company of Sea Lions among them since I didn't have any of them to begin with. Here is how two of them turned out. :)

I have invested in a k-9 team after finding a set cheap. I'm quite pleased with my painting on these guys. :D

Thanks for posting them! Looking good dude!
-
Coming along quite nicely!
-
I'm just getting my Brotherhood started too, after what seems like a long time without painting much. All I've been able to muster are character figs for roleplaying, but now I'm in army painting mode. With the rain stopping I hope to prime an army tonight!!
-
(http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii193/davekufner/Miniatures/002-1.jpg)
My new Capitol squad. I was feeling nostalgic and painted them over the past 3 days. I saw some Bauhaus here in chocolate chip and urban so I decided to try a Jungle chip pattern. They need a few tweeks but I call em done.
-
Looking great! How did you do the guns? Got to love some old schoold painted Capital.
-
The guns were cake. First, I always prime black. I usually then drybrush white but I tried grey instead. Once this is done I go to base colors. The guns are the same drybrushed grey over black with their magazines and bayonets the same grey as the drybrush. I don't like the metallic look on futuristic models.
-
Very nice! I think the jungle cc went well!

Results are great! Nice idea to color the base the 180 arc of fire correct?
-
Excellent. Great looking unit!
D

Thanks. Yep you are correct, I tend to do that with all my models and now I prefer the lipped bases. The lipped bases allow me to paint stuff on the back.
Thanks Veez and Warzone D.
I guess I can use my old SOB models for Martian Banshees.
-
I made a question a while ago on one of my unknown warzone capitol figures and now got around to paint him.
This is him, how he looked when I dug him out. :D
(http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/2207/dscn5522.jpg)
And this is afterward I went crazy on him with my brushes, I even painted a copy of the scorpion, put on a Punisher Short Sword that I had free and I'm very pleased with my now new D.S Grenadier, formerly known as Capitol Hero. :D
(http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/4291/dscn5541.jpg)
-
Looking good. Nice scorpion!
-
Much improved paint job. Some people tend to overpaint stuff and add too much colors. Contrary to some company's belief guns are not red they are generally black.
-
I like what you did with the DS color and mod. A better looking figure, by far.
-
I was pondering to cut a bit in him, removing armor parts along the legs and arms, but figured I could leave it. Hells, if I used AP-Grenades, I'd like to wear heavier armor as well if I for some reason had to drop one close to myself ;)
-
I would suggest washing the model in brown ink this will help unify the colors.
-
The scorpion turned out well. These figs will really shine when you highlight them!
-
both highlights and shades won't appear on my minis in at least a few months. :P I'm lacking in both ink and good highlight colors so what I focus on is the basic colors. They will look good, lack the more refined details I want to add, but they will be possible to field in my games without me staring at the only primed army of mine. :D I got in my head to make some desert camo, shade with a good ink, work out the highlights, etc, once I have painted up (and acquired) the rest of my army.
-
So is it going to be the current tri-color or the choco chip from desert storm?
-
I'd probably try tri-color camouflage. I'm not that much of a fan for dots. :P
-
I think I wanna try german WWII dot 44 camo pattern for one squad.
-
A Jake Kramer.
I spent a lot of time on this one figure. I put time into trying to paint with several shades of the same colors, specially the trench coat.
I must say I'm very pleased with the results, the shading went mostly well and the colors worked good together that I chose. Perhaps the shirt could have been another color, but I only got 8 colors at home atm so not much to play with. :)
-
very nice and clean- i like him.
perhaps add some contrast to him to make him less uiform? something to break up the dirty gray?
-
Greatg job! I like the pants color.
-
Looks awesome! I love the shading on the pants and on the coat! Keep up the great work!
Yes, green is the color of envy. Why?
-
My Banshees are almost done. I should have pics up later this week.
-
Dave,
Looking forward to seeing them. I am interested in the painting scheme you will use.
-
(http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii193/davekufner/Miniatures/003-6.jpg)
Just finished my Banshee Boys today. I put a more Martian style flocking on the bases and stuck with the canon red theme. How do they look?
-
Dude, seriously awesome! How did you get the faces to turn out like that?
Colors - need details. Inquiring minds want to know.
Please post extreme close up of at least one fig.
-
Wouldn't be awesome if you added some smoke/flames coming from the jet packs? My suggestion - buy the acc pack from flames of war smoke/flames. I have 2 packs and will use them on my Wailing Banshees.
-
The masks turned out extemely well. Rest of the figs look good, but the masks REALLY draw the eye.
Keep up the good work.

Well, I always prime black (which is usually a cause for arguments lol) then I dry brush the entire model light grey. Over that I put two coats of blood red and then worked on the details. I highlighted the eagles white, black inked the rifles over the grey drybrush. I was going to go over the faces with a second drybrush of white but decided they looked good enough as is. I painted the belts and pouches two types of brown and the grenades OD green with their gloves a german green. I ink washed the entire model with brown ink and then another coat of red. The rocket packs are primed black with a heavy gold dry brush and I painted the arrows light grey. I painted the bases light brown and flocked them with red puerto rican dirt.
Not sure how good a ECU picture will come out as all I have is a cheapo walmart digi-cam.

Maybe I don't know what that would look like.

Thanks, the masks are the parts I was most worried about losing detail on.

Here is my first completed WZ mini: Capitol Doomtrooper Warrior:
(http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j302/Doompup/Warzone/Capitol%20Doomtrooper%20Warrior/100_1959.jpg)(http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j302/Doompup/Warzone/Capitol%20Doomtrooper%20Warrior/100_1961.jpg)
I went for the Martian sand/rocks effect on the base. I was also pleased with how the Doomtrooper/Cartel emblems on the hat, shoulder and knee pads turned out.
-
Looks good. I'm not a fan of the Sword chain saws myself too GWish and hokey for my taste.
-
The leather came out especially well. Overall, great use of a fig.
-
I'm not a fan of the Sword chain saws myself too GWish and hokey for my taste.
Thanks all for the comments. I agree that chainswords are GWish, but I use this simple equation to get past that:
Chainsword = chainsaw
Necromutant = zombie
Chainsaw + zombie = fun and goodness!

Well-said, and even better-painted!

Here's something fun to look at. It's my Capitol Army from when I started painting again last year to today. The first images display all the capitol figures I had in total when I started again and the last ones I had to split up cause it's not fitting in on one image any more. And I got about a hundred more unpainted figures to boost a almost full fledge capitol selection with maximised squads.
You might notice how I haven't shaded many of the units I got in my army, this is intended for now as I sometimes leave out finer details that I feel I can improve later on. :)
The initial minis I had when I dug them out a year ago from storage.

Very nice collection!
Once you feel comfortable witht he painting (completed) I would suggest to try to wash with GW (new) washes or dip with "The Army Painter" stain and spray with dullcoat (Testor's).
-
Almost finished Ranger platoon. Got another Sergeant and a Grenadier left to paint but else it's coming along nicely. Sadly no LMG to add to the collection yet.
The Sergeant in the middle is how I plan for the rest of the to turn out in the end. He's been washed, etc.

LMG even better.

Lookin good! I likes to see me more Capitols. I just got the special ops chick. She'll be heading to the painting table soon.
-
Great job on the figures! Good luck at Talamania!
-
Well done - great color choices.

Got around to paint the Assault Marines I got from Topkick a while ago. They been on my bench for a while but only this week did I finish the other units I needed to finish first.

Assault Marines are a must in all Capitol armies.

Anyone else getting a feeling of bad ass police enforcement from these btw? >.>

Sea Lions ready for deployment (and rebasing).
-
Hope the "sea" combat soon!
-
You ain't Lion.
-
Nice job on the Sea Lions. I like the blue camo pattern.
-
What's really hard to sea is the basing on one of the proto-types. I have painted blue/green and flocked with sand. I then superglued the entire base which leaves it all shiny like, I'm not lion.
-
Well done on all of those figs!
-
Nice looking diorama, Frazetta.
-
I just saw these. Great work.
-
Great job!

Been remaking the colour scheme to part of my army. Starting to come to an end now and here is the results so far.
Still I need to wash them all and there is small details I have left for another day at the table.

A couple more Capitol squads that I had finished previously but never had a chance to post pictures of:
Capitol Heavy Infantry (shaded using Army Painter Quickshade dip):

Mitch Hunter (slight conversion with the gun; I tried to have the figure echo Paul Bonner's famous artwork from Warzone 1st edition cover); sorry the pic is a little grainy:
Any comments, suggestions, and/or constructive criticisms welcome.
-
At Pax:
They look awesome. I would love to see them routed before my forces, then bribe you to paint my armies. I am a big fan of non-shiny guns. Nice work.
At Doompup:
Comment: <drool>
Suggestion: Graft your hands to my paint brushes
Constructive Criticism: Not nearly enough pics, and a horrible sense of "grainy;" the pics look great
-
Great work gentlemen.
I am totally borrowing the ranger colors.
-
Nice looking Cap squads and I like the individual as well. Post more when you can.
-
Thanks for the compliments!

Wow these are great!
-
Well done. Rangers look great!
