Dug up this stuff while sorting out my Warzone stuff.
Made these up a few years ago for a special Warzone game we played. Basically it entailed a competition of various corporate factions on Dark Eden searching for one of the Skulls on an abandoned outpost. Turns out the outpost was overrun by giant mutant insects under the control of a dark cult of Crescentians called the Lords of the Flies.
What I did was convert some Starship Troopers bugs to Warzone rules. We tried it out and pretty much everyone found the bugs quite challenging and the stats seemed to emulate what you see in the movies (it took a lot of shooting from assault rifles to bring down a Warrior bug).
Warrior Bug

Large Flame Template 12 AV-2 Residual
Special Rules: When model dies it explodes in a Large Explosion Template (DAM 10 AV-1, Residual). Measure CC range as 2" from center of model. Claw attacks can be made within 360 degree arc, bite and flame attacks in forward arc only.
Special Abilities
Tunnel - Model may spend 1 AP to submerge itself below ground level (Level 0). Once underground it cannot be attacked in any way, and may use only Move actions. Indicate the position of the tunneling model with a Tunneling Counter.
At any time during its turn, it may spend one AP to emerge from the ground. Due to the inexact nature of this style of movement, the model cannot emege in base-to-base contact with another model.
Note: The PC values were a rough guess and we only played them in a scenario. They probably need some adjustment. I think we figured the explosion template for the Tanker Bug was not big enough (as the template is about the size of the model anyways) and might have to be increased by an inch or two. Tunneling movement might need to be reduced, I'm thinking maybe -1 MV when moving underground.

I like it! I vaugely remember you giving us the battle report from this game and it sounded like a blast! Very Dark Eden as well.
-
Good idea.
Blasting hordes of enemies is always fun. Doesn't really matter if they are bugs or zombies. :D
-
Sounded like a fun scenario to play. Fitted in well with Dark Eden, IMO.
-
I played a game at Warfaire many years ago with the bugs and it was loads of fun. Still have all the 1st edition stats for the bugs.
-
It makes me hope that when the expansions come out that there is some sort of Dark Eden terrain/environment that has wild beasts of the abandoned birthplace as terrain/advirsaries/whatnot.

That harkens back to the day when I ran a Gamma World scenario that used a giant robotic chicken farm, filled with mutated cyclopean chickens, armed with assault rifles! Man, that was not only fun, but funny.
-
That's just a low way to get taken out. Giant Robocyclopticsemi-domesticated Chickens.
-
I have some Starship Trooper Bugs sitting on the shelf. I boght them with the idea of creating some proxies for the Swamp Goblin big fugly but they languish. I was going to sell them but I may have to keep a few and try this scenario out. I request permission to use this gem of an idea.
-
No problem. Hopefully I can find the scenario with the markers I made for it as well.

Well I did find the Battle Report (http://forum54.oli.us/index.php?topic=548.0) we posted on this several years ago.

Great scenario Cmdr, thanks for the stats.

Gamma World is one of my favorite roleplaying games. I did a simliar scenario but it was a factory cattle farm, COWS WITH GUNS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4zlufbOFOo) and the song by Dana Lyons hadn't even been created yet when I did the scenario. FLASH ANIMATION LINK (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPhWfSeMYHA) I was just playing off Animal Farm by George Orwell.
-
@Seamus-- cool flash. I like the cow idea. Gamma World was a great game.
-
Yeah, I loved those rabit banditos

Very cool Batrap, I like all the different points of view of the various factions.
