Title: Hunting Spiders
Post by: Dragon62 on September 26, 2006, 01:22:42 PM
At one time were'nt the rules for Hunting Spiders on here and Thom had said that a Troll for the Swamp Goblins was going to be in CM. Does anyone have the rules for these?

You can find the rules for the Hunting Spiders here:

Chronopia World Downloads (http://www.kerlin.de/chronopia/index_downloads.php)

I dont think that the stats for the Swampgoblin Troll do exist but i remember reading about the idea of one sometimes in the past.

They have 2 forearms and 1 bite how many attacks per action do they have?

That would be three, and they're all natural attacks, so there's no secondary attack penalty.

Don't forget, if you don't have the Excelsior model, they are EASILY proxied.  They fit on a 40mm base, just so you know how big they are.  Cheers.

On a good day they're just that, an effective model.  I'm looking forward to painting my Swampies after fighting you Phil.  I think the only way you could have overcome my high-ground crossbowmen and iron wall of Dwarves would have been to swarm your whole army at them behind your Elves.  You would have lost some Elves but they had the best chance of making it across with the Standard of Deflection and at least a minimal chance with the highest armor of your army.  The Spiders could then have leapt/climbed up to chew the crossbows and everyone else could have moved in.  Your Mantis Guard are Steadfast and Ferocious, so they would have been able to fight off my Vulture Totem.  I think the table was a little large for a 1000 point game, as we spent most of it manoevering.  In any event, with two Spiders, they should bat cleanup, or pick off smaller units.  With four, well, that's a scary proposition.  Leap anyone?
